Default I love WM

I love Wall Mart.
Arrived at the Blue Springs Mo. WM at 12:50 am and waited 7 and a half hours to purchase the only 2 boxes of 1,000 Winchester M-22 ammunition at 07:20 at $49.37 each. Another regular showed up at 01:10 and another at 02:15 and left knowing I would be buying both boxes.
The key is patience and determination. Everyone has the same opportunity. The Blue Springs WM was one of 3 within 20 miles of home base that had that ammunition today, 06-July. And there were 3 other WM's on the 3rd of July with same, but 30 to 35 miles distant.
I will probably be criticized for this, but at least now I am .22 ammunition secure at reasonable prices....FOREVER! With about 9,000 rounds of .22 rim fire ammo in stock, with about 6,000 being added in the last 2 months.
Anyone can do the same.

The M-22 shoots very accurate and reliable in my Sig 522, T/C Bench Mark, Ruger Charger, Ruger Mklll, High Standard 107, and a couple others. Also very accurate in several Anschutz, Win. 52, Rem. 40X, and others. Will not win matches, but close.

Hoarder? Well yeah, sorta. But I SHOOT it and do not hide it away. I view it no different than having savings in a checking account.

Now if one is the mind set of OWS, (Occupy Wall Street) the organization of chronic losers, that feel they, like the Marxist in the White House today, believe everything should be distributed even to them that fail, nothing will change that mind set.

While I personally do not resell the ammunition, I believe it is the capitalistic RIGHT of them that do and let the market decide. Price too high? Then don't buy it. Get out of bed and beat everyone else in line at WM. I am stocked and will let others have their day. Just go do it.

Life is way to short to stay up all night to buy 22 ammo. especially when you already have 7000 rounds stashed away. your priorities are way different than mine.

This was absolutely the LAST time for me. Got enough, will let the other guys that show up at 01:10 and 02:15 have their opportunity.
There was a lot of 9mm, 45acp, and other .22 also.

PS: The way I shoot there is probably only 65 or 70 range days of shooting .22 rim fire. At 25 days a year, that really is not much ammo in stock.

I'd take up some other hobby before I would participate in that sort of boondoggle.

Yep. Was determined to top off supply of .22. Nothing else to do before the Saturday morning cast bullet match.

I reload everything else, about 20+ cartridges.

It will be a cold day in hot place before I'd stand 7.5 hours in a line to buy .22's. Not gonna happen. Nada. No way!

LOL Wish I had the 7 hours to invest!!! Seriously, congratulations! I get the question every day at the LGS I work at... "When is ammo going to come down/get available"?

My answer is the same every time.... "When people can no longer flip it for a good profit.....

supply and demand is a beautiful (if oft frustrating) thing....

Glad you got your fill, as I truly hope everyone else reading this can do.....

How many "likes" can I give this beautiful human being?!

Hoarding? Boondoggle? Life is too short?

First - MY MAN!! WAY TO GO!

You are a patient hunter. You recognized an opportunity and you bagged your prey.

Second - You are not a hoarder. You have a purpose for that which you gather and you will make use of it. Hoarders are mentally ill. You are a "prepper" and I mean that in the nicest way possible. BE PREPARED! is your creed.

Third - Boondoggle? Sounds like you planned your raid and executed it to a "T".

Fourth - Life is too short? To those who think this way, I challenge you to add up the time you have spent on message boards complaining about the availability of ammunition. My man here spent that same amount of time actually doing something about it.

7 whole hours! Imagine! I mean, that's like sitting on one's fat patoot through 2 football games. Or a "Duck Dynasty" marathon. Or like, an inning of baseball...

I love the way that people who do nothing about their situation make fun of those of us who actually DO something about it.

Haters gonna hate. Whiners gonna whine.

Those of us with ammunition gonna shoot!!!

Not a hater, and i've got plenty of ammo, (bought a little
each time i get paid) and have for several years now.
But i can't ever see myself standing in a Wallyworld for 7 1/2
hours unless someone has taken me hostage.
Really ???? For rimfire ammo ???
Jeezz Man, hook up with old blujax and you guys just might
plan a life.

I hope you had a book or something with you.

I have the ADHD thing going on. No way I could stay in one place just waiting for seven + hours.

Did some shopping (time to remember things always forgotten) had an iPad & iPhone and the American Rifleman.

Did many days sitting in a guard shack (Army) perimeter tower (prison) and other positions requiring long periods of solitude, inaction and attentive to surroundings. So it was (is) not that difficult to spend 7 hours just waiting.

And for the comment "Standing in line like cattle." MOO, MOO, MOO.

Chud333, like you I saw this coming and don't have to take such measures. But our friend here likes to shoot his 22 and found an economic solution so he could continue.

I'll let you in on a secret - I don't own a 22 and do not think for a minute that I could have predicted the rimfire shortage. But the principle remains the same.
If one wants ammo (or anything else) they can either pay for the convenience of not waiting in line by forking over the higher price, wait in line and pay the lower price, or have none and sit and complain about the price. CB took some discretionary time and spent it waiting in line. In my opinion, spending 7 hours "people-watching" with a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was time well-spent.

By the way CB, using your figures you only have about 3 years worth stashed away. The political scene has me thinking we need to have a 6 or 7 year stash - if you have room and can afford it. You're probably not done, yet.

Not a hater or whiner but anyone out of diapers during the Clinton era/first barry election could have/should have been prepared for situations such as the one we're in now.

Wow, I can not imagine anyone wasting darn near 8 hours just to get 2 boxes of ammo. I guess some people have nothing better to do with their time. I would find an new hobby before I stand in line longer than 10 minutes let alone 8 hours for ammo. You would have been better off just paying 50-60 a box for the craap than standing in line wasting 8 hours. To each their own I guess. At least you accomplished want you wanted, lol.

By your estimate he saved what, $50?

Put another way, he was paid $7 an hour to sit around and do nothing.

How much are you or me paid to sit around and do nothing?

I am retired at 69 years old, 70 this year. Upon leaving WM at 07:20hrs it was off to a cast bullet match and day at the range.

Yesterday a box (500 X 2) of 1,000 Winchester M-22 FAILED to meet minimum price on GB at $150.00 bid, there were 6 bids. WM price is $48.37 for the same.

Yet I get criticized, referred to as 'cattle,' nothing better to do with my life, and several other put down posts for exercising tenacity to secure what I feel is sufficient ammunition for the remaining years.

I regret ever posting. Just thought some would be interested in what CAN be achieved if willing to put forth the effort.

Finally, I am NOT selling ammo.

Have a good day, bye.

What in the world is wrong in this country? People waiting in line for 7+ hrs to buy ammo? That's ridiculous, makes me sick and we should never allow the politicians to pull such !@#$%^&* : puke :

Well here is something to consider, you mentioned you have bought over 6,000 rounds of 22lr the last few months, you are only contributing to this so called ammo shortage. You can thank yourself for standing in line 8 hours to buy more ammo. I have not bought ammo in about a year and will not anytime soon either. Can't get mad at us, you come on here and brag about how you stood in line 8 hours at walmart to get 2 boxes????
