Default New FBI load by Remington

Hi all, well not new but repackaged, they are calling it HTP for High terminal performance, part of a new line that also includes JHP, soft point and semi jacket HPs for pistol and revolver. Its the good old .38 Special FBI load of a +P, soft lead SWC-HP in a nickeled case #RTP38S12. Found this in a LGS price was $28.00 for a box of fifty, sounds sorta high but at a nearby big shop they wanted $ 25.00 for a box of Federal .38 SPCL 158 LRN's so what the heck my stock of these loads are getting a bit dated so I bought two boxes to freshen things up a bit. Its nice to see a major manufacturer including this type of load in a high performance line. I can and do load this round for about $4.50 a box but for carry use I prefer factory ammo in a box stock gun.

Please note, I posted this before looking at the rest of the posts and did not see CoMF's post which I basically duplicated and I apologize to him for stepping on his toes!

Don't sweat it. The more info that gets out about this new load, the better.

It's nice to see that it's selling for an attractive price point compared to the traditional Express loading.

Does the HTP load use a lead hollow point or a jacketed hollow point, because the Remington online catalog, at least, still has the old Express S12 Lead Hollow Point load listed, which is the Remington version of the FBI load. The original was, of course, the Winchester X38SPD, but all of the "big three" ammo makers manufactured the load at some point.

It's the exact same load. Nothing has changed but only for the packaging.
