Which Ammo?
I got a 686 from my Dad in Feb and yesterday I got some ammo for it- WWB 110 JHP ,Blazer 158 JHP all .357 mag. Which ammo for home defense? Thanks for the help. Jeff

Anything in .357 mag thats a hollow point. Less chances of it going through ur wall and into ur neighbors home. Probably isnt going to matter much what grain u use (as this is for home defense). Close quarters with a .357 mag, u are likely to be taking off the intruders limbs anyways.

Just remember, using a .357 Magnum in a small dark room is not a good thing IMO. The results will be like a flash-bang and you will be doing that to yourself. A .357 Magnum is extremely loud inside a bedroom and at night the flash is blinding. I would and do load my HD revolver with .38 Special ammo.

Not if you close your eyes, plug your ears and pull the trigger a bunch of times. Even if you do flash-bang yourself there usually is much left standing after that! LOL

Both will work, but try them and see which you can shoot better. Also check each cylinder after firing a few rounds to make sure there's no "bullet jump," bullets moving out of the cases due to heavy recoil.
