I have 2 boxes and I can't find a lot number anywhere. They say it is supposed to be printed on the inside of the flap. Not on mine.

I quit buying Remington rimfire ammo long ago.
Junk !!!
I tought the golden bullets we're bad but the Thunderbolt
branded stuff is worse. Missfires, extremely dirty. Pass.....

Unlike many, I have fired thousands of rounds of Thunderbolt and Golden Bullet ammo in my .22s and never experienced any problems with feeding, accuracy, or excessive cleaning problems.
Just lucky, I guess.

If you open the attachment on the OP you can read the announcement flyer. It gives the lot numbers affected and tells you where to look. My boxes don't have ANY numbers on them.

This could end up being a cluster. I've got one brick of 10 x 50 boxes and a handful of individual 50 boxes. On the inside flap of the larger "brick box" there is a number but it looks to have been applied when the box was printed, not when it was filled as I would expect and see on other ammo lot number stamps. Just to be sure, I unpacked one of the 50 boxes to see if there was something on the tray but nothing.
Now to compound things, there were times in the past few months that the big box stores were breaking down the bricks and only selling individual 50's to limit and disperse product. Given the individual boxes don't seem to be stamped, how would you know the lot number, even IF the number I found on the flap was a lot number???

Well, we'll
Remember the "Pssst......hey buddy, want to buy some .22's"? Thread?
My 3 boxes are Remington Thunderbolts.
I can't find any number on my boxes.

I can tell you that the number on your flap is probably not the lot number.
Unless they sold the same lot to you in Texas and to me in Ohio. All my numbers are identical to yours.

I'd expand this to Remington Ammo Recals!!!
WOW, I just called the 800 number!
FIRST, it's 800#, then 3, then 6, ... That's right SIX. If you have ANY Remington ammo I'd call this number to listen to the recalls!
Now to the 22LR issue. The agent seemed stymied when I told him what wasn't on the boxes. He did say that it ONLY affects ammo since 7/22/13. IF you purchased the ammo since then, call them for replacement.

So in reading the recall, there is possiblility of the bullet separating from the case.
If you check each bullet and there is no movement, wouldn't that mean its ok?
Loose = discard??
"Remington has determined that two specific lot codes of Remington 22 Thunderbolt® ammunition may contain rounds with an insufficient crimp on the bullet. This issue is specific only to lot numbers: S22BB1237 and S22BC1237. Handling or loading this 22 Thunderbolt® ammunition could result in the separation of the bullet from the shell casing. In certain situations, this occurrence could render the firearm inoperable."

If you discard all of them that are loose, you'll end up with an empty brick. It's common for the bullet to not be seated tightly in the case with .22 ammo. Especially with Thunderbolts.
