Cabelas problems
Have any of you had problems with Cabela's cancelling your order? It happened to me several times this week. I follow the "In stock 22lr" thread and ordered the mini-mag box of 100. The first day my order didn't go through - ok I wasn't fast enough. The second day it went through only to have it canceled later that day and then not even 8 hours later they were selling it again (based on the forum and gunbot). The following day I ordered the "swamp people" bulk pack of mini-mags and again later that day they canceled it on me. I don't mind missing it but when they complete the sale wouldn't you think that they would just hold your order for the following day when they get more rather than cancelling it?

I don't recall ever having an order cancelled by Cabela's. I've had a couple items (ammo) show as in stock when I placed my order, but when I received the email it showed as "backordered". I called and cancelled one order and the other time it was shipped about a week later.

Could be that either they're out of ammo by the time your order comes up to be filled and/or you live in a ammo-restricted city/county.

Give their customer service a call. I've been impressed the couple of times I have called. Very friendly and pleasant to talk to. And they are AMERICAN ...not some southern asia cheap labor call center.

I don't shop there or any big box sporting type stores. I support mom and pop stores. I don't have these problems.

That can't be it because I live in California and have ordered lots of ammo from mail order places including a couple orders from Cabelas.
With the possible exception of a few cities which have special ordinances, you can buy ammo mail order from California.
That's true now. Next year might be another story.

I know this is a long shot but check the credit card you are using and see if it is expired and maybe you forgot to put the new one in your wallet.

The people that take orders have no idea when something out of stock will be delivered. They go by what's on their computer screen.
BUT, like said above, call CS because they are usually very good about helping customers out and making you happy.

Thanks for the thoughts...each time I placed an order I included an additional item that I really didn't need but added to defray the shipping costs, and they only canceled the ammo part of the order. I don't live in a restricted county and they have shipped ammo to me before (although it was packaged so bad it was just a box of loose cartridges by the time it got to me). I actually did contact their CS and after going through a couple of different people one of them offered to send me a gift certificate for the cost of shipping when I mentioned that I would not have ordered the other item without the ammo - so they tried. I just don't understand why they would cancel my ammo but then put it back for sale several hours later.

People cancel orders or order ammo from restricted areas. It gets put back in stock.

Ordered 22's yesterday, Cabela's ad was showing in stock. Printed out receipt showing in stock and gave ship-to-store date. Thought everything was cool. Went back a few hours later and my account showed that it had been changed to "backordered". I'm chalking it up to technology can't keep up with demand. Am I po'd? Nope. Give it a week or so and I'll have what I ordered.
