I've been shooting S&B for years. They have been making quality ammunition for generations (since 1825). The factory is located in Czechoslovakia.

Look around their website.

Really nice ammo for the price. For general target shooting and plinking, if I can find S&B that's what I'm buying. To each his own, but for me when it comes to value line ammunition S&B and Prvi Partizan are tough to beat.

BTW, S&B and Magtech are owned by the same parent company. Usually they are both at the same price point but IMHO I much prefer S&B over Magtech FWIW.

I've never shot the .38, but I've had little problems with the .45acp and zero problems with the 9mm. I prefer Federal or Winchester more (same price at my LGS), but I don't worry about or mind S/B.

Cabela's house brand ammo - Herters - is loaded by S&B (stamped on the back of the box). Good stuff, works great.

I've shot thousands of 9mm S&B rounds without a single issue. It's probably the best reasonably priced plinking/practice ammo available.

Good range ammo. My only gripe is that the 9mm ammo is packed so close together that it's hard to pull the rounds out with your fingers. You just about have to dump the whole 50 rounds on to the shooting table.

I hate picking the rounds out of the box so I bring a little square plastic tub that my uplula fits into. When I open a box of ammo I dump the rounds into the tub so I can grab them easier. I like the S&B boxes because they take up less room on the shelf. I have to find a source for empty ammo boxes. I reuse them because I reload and the boxes are starting to look kind of ratty. Maybe I'll have to buy some of those plastic ammo boxes.....nah I'm too cheap for that, I'll fix the boxes with tape.

Just a slight correction: Czechoslovakia no longer exists. It is now, since 1993, the Czech Republic and Slovakia; two different countries.

The factory is located in Vlasim, Czech Republic.

IMO s&b is junk. I own a SIG p226 old style. It eats everything I put in it and is 10x more accurate than I am. My exs father had a lot of s&b lying around so we decided to liquidate it. First I shot 200 ends of wwb at 15 yards. Everything went fine. Then I shot a mag of s&b......3 hit paper. I fired another mag. 7 hit paper. I couldn't figure it out. Moved to 7 yards and another mag...... none were in the first two rings. So he gave it a shot. He's a 4x regional idpa champion. Fired 2 mags......all over the place. Then he fired a mag of wwb. 2 inch group at 7 yards ......I decided then this stuff was poo poo.... never shot it again

I have gotten good results with S&B in 32 and 380 auto but accuracy
with 9mm FMJ has been poor in my guns.

Yeah, I should have phrased it correctly. I still think of Czechoslovakia as one country. But, I also think of Pluto as a planet.

That doesn't change my positive opinion of S&B ammo, however.

I tried it 5 or 6 years ago and had 2 boxes of .38 Special, each with multiple FTFs. The suspect rounds were each tried multiple times in 3 different revolvers (2 S&Ws and a Colt). None ever fired, although the repeated firing pin impact eventually wore through the primer cups. I assumed there was no priming compound present, although it is possible that the anvils were missing.

These events happened several months apart and after the second incident I moved on to other brands. Obviously others have had better experiences, but even in the current shortage I haven't been tempted to try again and if forced by circumstances to use it in a carry gun I would make sure my knife was sharp.

It is good cheap ammo. I used to shoot quite a bit of the 38 special wadcutters before I reloaded. The brass was only good for 2 reloads before it started splitting. When I run into S&B brass I just leave it at the range now.

Orrrrrr.....your gun just dodsnt like em.

Just like my friend's Remington 700 that shoots sub moa with ****** Wolf 308 ammo. Other ammo is good too but Wolf consistently gets smaller groupings. Go figure

I've been happily shooting S&B for almost 20 years. I find it to be accurate and, in the blowback calibers (.25, .32, .380, 9x18Mak), generally far warmer than what you'll find made on this side of the pond. Every once in a great while one hears about a bad lot. As a handloader, I note that the brass seems sometimes irregular and on the brittle side.

I too have been shooting S&B ammo for the last 20 years or so. I'm a wheelgun guy so my use has been limited to 38 Special & 357 Magnum. (I have used their shotgun ammunition in 16 20 & 28ga and it is SUPERB.) I have no complaints; they make good ammo at reasonable prices. I will continue to use and recommend S&B ammunition.

I have shot a lot of S&B 9mm and .22 over the years with no problems. IMO it is great ammo.

I have used 38SPL wadcutters, 357, 9mm, 303BRIT 8mm Mauser and never had a problem. The primers are tight, so if you are looking to reload do as I did and ream/uniform the primer pockets.
303BRIT I just neck size and only get a couple of reloads before splits or head separations. That is because my #4mk1 SMLE has a huge chamber.

S&B has been in business for close to two centuries. Their knowledge of ammunition manufacturing is the equal of any other ammunition manufacturer in the world. I have used S&B shotshells and handgun ammunition for over 40 years with no problems, ever.

No issues here.

S&B seems to be the only brand of 38 special wadcutter I can find reliably around here. I shot a box of S&B wadcutters yesterday, split between my Detective Special and 8 3/8" model 27-it's easily among the most accurate ammo I've shot out of both of those guns.

I've also shot a fair bit of 38 special 158grs, 357 magnum, and 44 magnum under the Herters Black Box name, which at least in those particular loadings is made by S&B(although headstamped for Herters). No issues with those either. The 158gr 38 specials do feel noticeably warmer to me than the US made standard pressure loadings of the same bullet weight.

I have been shooting S&B 38 wadcutter in my Model 52-2 all summer. No issues and accurate enough for bullseye at 25 yards.

S&B is a major supplier for all sides in every major conflict dating back to before metallic cartridge.
I have shot up a ton of 9mm and .223& 5.56 in.
I has always performed as intended. It has good brass and reloads well, too.

I've shot many thousands of rounds of S&B (in .45 ACP). Never had any problems with them.

I've shot S&B ammo in both 303 and 8mm never a problem. Had a buddy who used only S&B 45 acp in his 45 autos. Never a problem. And since he didn't reload learned a lot about Louisiana bugs while picking up his brass. Frank
