Ammo becoming more available?
For the last few weeks I have been able to find .38 special, .380 acp, 9mm, and .40 cal in both fmj AND jhp on a regular basis. Even saw some .40 cal Winchester at meijer!
Is it just in my part of Michigan, or are you experiencing the same where you live? .45 has been pretty available on a continuous basis.

You were lucky to find 380 or 38. Except for 22lr everything but 380 and 38 has been easy to find around here.
But I've been lucky and found 2300 rounds of 22lr in the last two months.

Most stores around here (Saratoga & Warren Counties) have bare shelves, although there is some coming in, I have seen rifle calibers I can't use and some (expensive) pistol calibers.
.22 LR continues to be absent, just went to a local big box and they had their game going - 3 bricks put out at 9AM -12 Noon and 6PM, but the same hoarders are there on line to get it and resell elsewhere.
Useless clerk told me they have CCI Standard (0032) bricks for $39.99 + tax. The game continues.

The St. Louis Cabela's has most calibers in stock including .22LR, .40 S&W, .45 ACP some 9mm, and some .380. I'm fully stocked and have been passing up opportunities to buy calibers I like to shoot. A remarkable improvement.

I was at the local Cabelas last Saturday and was stunned to find .22LR on the shelves (Federal 40.0 gr. Automatch 325 rounds/box) at a reasonable price: $17.99 + tax, limit one box/adult. Also, the racks of evil black rifles (Windhams and Bushmasters) have returned to the sales floor.
The local Academy now restricts only 9mm and .22LR ammo sales. .308 and AK ammo, as well as most center fire rifle ammo is returning to shelf stock as is (slowly) pistol ammo. I was lucky enough to find 2 boxes of .30 caliber M-1 carbine ammo which went home with me since my son has finally shot my M-1 carbine and discovered how much fun it is to shoot.
Regards,
Dave

It is, I'm seeing more and more at Walmart and my local Palmetto State Armory has plenty of 22s, standard velocity CCI, Mini Mags and some Remington (I think).
On the day they opened I think the Mini Mags had to be priced wrong, ($5.99/100). I swooped up quite a few of those.
Went in the other day and I think they are around double that now.

Ammo Availibility
My experience has come mostly during Gun Shows and I have noticed that those who bought some years back have decided to cash in on the shortage and offer some of their "Stash" for sale to those who are willing to pay the exorbitant high prices. Personally I have not and will not cave to the Gougers although I agree that they are not bound by any code that prevents them from overpricing. There remains some good deals but it seems to be luck if I find them. One friend has actually been able to buy the 1400 round bucket of .22 LR at Academy Sports for a fairly reasonable price but every time I'm there only the rationed 40 or 50 round .22 LR boxes kept at the service desk are available, which is frustrating. I'm Old and not yet senile enough to allow someone to take advantage of me but may be getting there! Not trying to be controversial but if those folks who triple or quadruple their prices depend on me for their living they will surely starve. Enough rambling!

My LGS (Lotus) has (literally) stacks of ammo, most at reasonable prices. The only limit is on .22s, which makes sense seeing as they have little or none that I would choose to use.

Lots of hunting ammo available locally.
But .22 and 9mm FMJ is still spotty.
Some of the .22 available is expensive target ammo.
A couple weeks back a local store had just that and Winchester subsonic.
Another got in "five boxes of .22" one day. Didn't last long.

Now we all know where the ammo is. Still empty shelves in Wyoming.

I've had very little luck finding CCI 22 lr target ammo. While I know there has been a run on ammo, why the 22 lr problem? It's hardly a self defense load. Please educate me.

Lots of new shooters, lots of new 22s sold,it's cheap and thousands of rounds take up little space.I'd like to find some CCI sv too.Im back to shooting bulk again, though I think the quality is better than it was 20 years ago.

Newsflash!! All highways in Ohio jammed by vehicles heading for LGS. Rumors of ammo have brought traffic to a standstill!

500 rd packs of cci standard sitting on the shelf at Dicks. WM had some 50 packs of stingers this weekend too.
Now as for 38 / 357. That is another story!!!! I have seen 1 box 357 at WM in the last few months.

Right after I posted, I went to the LGS to shoot (indoors) and they definitely had some ammo in stock. I spotted my favorite CCI 22 lr target ammo right away and purchased a few bricks - whoohooo!

Around here Wal-Mart has rifle ammo like 270 Win, 30-06, and 7mm mag but no 223,7.62x39, or 22LR, Etc. I stopped at a local gun store the other day and he had bricks of federal 22LR ammo for $36 so I bought two 550 packs and I know that is high but it's the first I have seen in months.

Things seem to be going....
Things seem to be going better in Michigan than they are here. Maybe some of it will drift down several hundred miles.

I went to Cabelas "Lacey WA" last Saturday and they had the most ammunition I have seen in quite some time. Still not all. No .22LR or .22 Magnum but alot of other calibers. It is nice to see it come back. On a whim I stopped in Walmart and scored three boxes of Remington .22LR 225 rd. boxes at $10.27 each. I just missed some 9mm. I was looking for the 250 rd. mega pacs. Getting better. Brian

Local gun show last weekend in Kansas City there was 9mm for $13 a box of 50, $18 for 45ACP 50 round boxes. Neither dealer sold out. Plenty of 22s @ $25 to $50 a brick and they did not sell out either.

My local Wally World has had .25auto, 9mm, .40S&W, and .45acp on the shelf for the last week it's all ball ammo no defence loads. They have plenty of shot shells with a lot of 00 buck in 12 and 20. Still no .38special, .357 mag, or 22lr. They have all the basic hunting rifle calibers except for .223 and .308

Here in Iowa, the local Walmart has only 13 boxes of .38 special on the shelves. Plenty of shotgun shells also. No other calibers though.
