This company produced these for varying calibers. When I was @14 years old I shot a porkipine at about 25 yards with one of this companies flares in 300 Savage caliber.. The porky didn't react much, just kept walking, yet there was smoke coming out of the entrance hole. Turning to look at my old friend, I saw his eyes widen. Turning back to the porky, I saw the flare projectile had reversed course and was coming straight at me. Being young and healthy, I jumped flat footed just as the flare passed under my favorite appendages. All this while my "friend" was laughing so hard I thought he was going to vapor lock. That is my one and only time I ever fired one of these, though I have several of different calibers in my cartridge collection.
