UMC JHP
I was forced this weekend to "clean up my mess" upstairs! I've had a wealth of Walmart stash piling up on the desk in the spare bedroom and had to "organize it" and move it to the proper storage areas. My tactic at Walmart is to purchase anything name brand and reasonably priced so I've accumulated quite a variety.
To my surprise, I noticed that the Remington ammo in the attached picture is JHP, not FMJ (MC I believe is the Remington jargon)! I've got multiple boxes of each caliber and its price point was between WWB and Fed per 100 round box
Has anyone shot this and is it "respectable" JHP???

I've shot 9mm JHP UMC,, No problems as it was a few years back..
I still have a couple of 100 round boxes in the stash.. I'll hold on to em,, Just in case ; )
PS I'm shooting my home rolled as of late

I like the "rose pedal" design of those Remington bullets and they do expand reliably. Even though the "new and improved" ammo is a must buy on the Internet forums I see nothing wrong with buying Remington UMC JHP ammo to keep shooting costs down. Even though I load most of my own ammo I keep a few hundred of those in .357 Magnum around for emergencies.

Thanks, it looked like decent stuff and go figure, cheaper than WWB FMJ to boot
I guess I can just tell people I paid $1.25/round and feel better!!!

Here's the link to the ammo test index page. I tested all 4 of the semi auto pistol loads. 9mm and 40 were the best, but the 40 failed when recently retested in a Shield. I love the 9mm version of this line. It's never failed me.

THANKS! I just picked up "a bunch" more in 40 and 45 today! JHP for less than target prices ain't bad in my book.
