Double Tap Ammo
Anyone used ammo from Double Tap? I am looking for any reviews/results specifically from the .44 Magnum 240 gr. semi-wadcutter hard cast load that they offer. A box of 20 is advertised for $23.99 on their website, thought I may try a box, it is exactly what I am looking for. Not for target practice but a good load for the Model 29 or Super Blackhawk when in the mountains out west.

I have been told by a few that DT is inconsistent.
I would go with Buffalo Bore.

I disagree completely. I bought and shot a lot of Double Tap ammo and it's extremely consistent. I bought a lot of their .38 Special +P ammo made with a Speer Gold Dot bullet for carry and a few other cartridges too.
They deliver just as much velocity as Buffalo Bore but they don't charge as much. If I weren't loading my own ammo I would still be buying Double Tap ammo.

I've used the DT 230 gr and 255 gr 45 Auto Rim. I've run both over the chronograph and they were very consistant out of a 4" M 22-4.
I've shot a little of their 357 125 gr HP. If my home club ever gets the "Mom and Pop" range up and running, I'll put some of it over the chronograph. The factory lists it at over 1600 fps, though I don't think they list a barrel length.
What I've shot has been good ammunition. But you will notice that all my experience had been with revolver cartridges. I'd like to hear from someone who has used their 9x19 or 45 ACP.
For what it's worth,
Charles

Like I said above most of the Double Tap ammo I've shot was .38 Special +P and a good amount of .357 Magnum ammo too. I have also shot their 9mm, 45 Auto and 45 Colt ammo and even a box of 45-70.
