Remington HTP .357mag (
High
Terminal
Performance) 180g. @ $39.99 for 50, which according to Remington's website is not re-packaged Express (they call them "P&R", as in pistol & revolver), with Velocity @ 100 listed as
1052 & Energy @ 100 listed as
443 out of a 4" barrel.
I'm supposing this is in ft./sec. & ft./lbs. If so, I think it compares favorably with 140g. Hornady LEVERevolution which claims Velocity of 1143 & Energy of 406 @100, but OUT OF AN 8" barrel.
If Remington's data is accurate, one wonders what the ballistics for that HTP load would be out of an 18" barrel?
Cheers!
p.s. Yes, I acknowledge there well may be a significant difference in the Hornady "Flex tip expanding" bullet vs. the Remington SJHP.
p.p.s. BTW, in .40S&W the HTP 180g. load listed Velocity as 960 & Energy as 368 @
100, exactly what the Express (P&R) 180g. load did @
50.
