Rem. R38S12 Dropped?
Midway shows this:
Remington Express Ammo 38 Special +P 158 Grain Lead Hollow Point Box
Discontinued? Remington's own website is worthless for ammo info. I sure hope they didn't discontinue this (158 gr. +p LSWCHP).

Yes and No!
They are discontinuing the R38S12 ammo number and re-releasing the same exact ammo under their Remington High Terminal Performance Ammunition line. Call me a scenic but I feel it's being done so they can charge us more. It's the same exact ammo that's over 50 years old in design and now they move it to a new line of their ammo with a fancy name and a higher price, nothing else has changed but the name and price! The new Remington Part # is RTP38S12.

Marketing ploy, not-so-pure and simple.
I've used the Remington FBI load for years, and still like and trust it; but I'm presently trying the Buffalo Bore standard pressure version, which gives virtually identical velocity and energy in a low-flash round.

Have no fear....................
The 38 GS load does just as good and comes in standard and "Bonded".
Penetrates 13.7" in gel with four layers of denim....... no clogs
out of a new model snub S&W J frame, +p rated.
PS;
one gentleman tested the new stuff in a 6" and found out that the readings were.......
100 fps slower than the old stuff. ( more cost cuts )

Did you follow the links? In Midway the new stock number is $6 LESS than the old, discontinued product. Since neither is in-stock it's a moot point anyway.

You can put any price you want on something that is backordered. Wait and see what it costs when it's back in stock!

Bass Pro carries this (usually). I bought 6 boxes total last summer at two different location (at different times) last Summer. It was cheaper as well.
