New CCI 300 Round Packages
Keep an eye out for these. IF you find any! Found this at a LGS yesterday. 300 round box.

How much are they charging for those rounds? I bet they added at least 15% to the price because they are "tactical"...

About a year and a half ago I got some of the same ammo only it was closer to $25 and it came in a 325 round box. I think I still have a box in my ammo can.

I think these are the new prices we will have to pay. I doubt if even when they catch up the prices will not go down very much. They see what people are willing to pay, so why drop the prices??

I hate to have to agree here but I think we are looking at the new normal. CCI has not only goosed up the price, but, as has already been mentioned, cut the number of rounds by 25.
And we're all going to be so glad to see it come back we'll barely notice it. There's got to be a lotta full closets out there, but its gonna be hard for a lot of shoppers to turn down 22LR at the "normal retail" level.
I'm happy to finally be able to find any kind of variety, at any kind of reasonable price.

I think you're right. Then they added Troy Landry's pic at some point too...or was that just on the 22 Maxi Mags?
It's been so long since I've seen them I can't remember very well.

Tactical .22s are like tactical shoelaces or something. What the heck is a tactical .22?

Kind of like the price of gas. Goes up to $4 from 3.15 and then when it goes back down to $3.65 it's the 'new' low price.

And the oil companies figure we're so damn dumb we won't notice.
Sadly, many fall for it and are delighted with the higher "lower" price.
I don't really need .22 ammo, but for now I have to be able to drive. Still, I know the BOHICA moments when I see them.

A year ago or so I was buying 375 rnd packs of those at Walmart for 26.00 out the door. I hate to see the price go up but I'll pay it for quality ammo.

Tactical .22s are the old standard velocity 40 grain loads we used to shoot tin cans and rats before the hyper velocity craze of the 80s and since. Someone in the industry discovered that some of the new "tactical" semi-auto AR look-alikes wouldn't function with all the various bullet weights, case lengths and velocities on the market, so by consensus or collusion the "tactical .22 LR" that every manufacturer was already geared up to produce was born.
Now, like leaded gas, the old stuff is sold at a premium.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Yea they were 375 round boxes. We got some with Troy Landry's pic on it and they cost around $30 for the box. I bought since its the first CCI mini mags we have seen in over a year.

75rds more per box is much better than the word "tactical" and 75rds less per box.

I found the CCI Minimag 36 grain hollow point copper jacketed in the 300 round Troy Landry packaging today at my LGS for <gulp> $35. It's all they had in CCI minimag.
I bought it, too.
