FINALLY - Plenty of .22
I run 40gr roundnose MiniMags in my match gun, Marvel 1911 conversion kit, and in my training guns. So, I shoot a lot of it.
By getting to Academy and Gander two hours before the doors open and by swapping and trading other bulk .22 ammo, I'm finally stocked up to where I was two years ago when CCI MiniMags were plentiful.
And it feels good. I shoot 100rnds today at the range.
3800 rnds

Good to see a positive post like this. I haven't really been trying to score .22LR having been stocking up for several decades. That said I've not been shooting any of my large supply due to re-supply concerns. Hope we see more of these posts.

Even at the 3 local Walmarts there is no .22 ammo available at all. Nothing, nada, zilch! this is getting ridiculous. I'm glad for you though, good work... There may be .22's in Texas but not in my part of PA.

I have not seen the 40 grain round nose in 2 years....
I actually have seen and purchased some of the CCI Mini Mag 36 grain hollow points, but no 40 grainers or Federal bulk to be found.
A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a Ruger 10/22 for my daughter's first rifle (And a nice Smith 457 at the same time)
As I was looking at the rifle, I told the salesman that I was concerned that she would not have any ammo to learn to shoot with. He looked at me for a few seconds, then wordlessly walked to the back of the store. He returned a few minutes later with one of the nitrogen filled 325 round cans of federal.
Handing it to my daughter he said "Have fun and be responsible young lady". I gladly offered to pay for them, but he just shook his head no.

You are most fortunate to have on hand such a large supply of excellent ammunition! Once upon a time I delighted in shooting CCI Mini-Mags as the normal round in my handguns and rifles. It was and remains one of the most consistently accurate rounds available for shooting .22 LR firearms. I have not ever had a single instance of a failue of any kind using this ammunition in any of my .22 LR revolvers, pistols or rifles.
The last CCI Mini-Mags I saw was a 100 rd. plastic box that a gentleman tried to sell to the owner of a LGS... for $35!!! And, it was missing three rounds! I bought them in the parking lot for $10 simply b/c it was the only .22 LR ammo I'd seen anywhere in months. At least it was some ammo I could shoot in my 18-3.
Beginning in about January there were links to be found on the 15-22 forum where one could find Blazers, etc. for sale at Cabelas. This allowed me to finally find ammunition that would work in my Marvel .22 1911 conversion. I have since found that The CCI Blazer, Federal Champion, American Eagle and Aguila .22 LR ammunition give perfect function and excellent accuracy in my 1911 using the Marvel conversion. If you can find some of these brands of ammunition you might want to give them a try in your conversion, possibly one or more of these might give you good results. JMHO. Sincerely. brucev.

I'm up all night and I go to the local Walmart stores 3 am and 4 am after they fill the shelves and I know the night guys and they tell me they haven't seen any .22 ammo come in in months. There is no .380 Auto ammo but there is everything else and .223 ammo too. Plenty of 9mm, .38 Spl, 40 S&W, 45 Auto and even some 25 Auto at times but NO .22 AMMO AT ALL!!! It just doesn't come in on the truck with the other ammo.

Im here at Wm now and they have plenty of everything--minus--9mm and zip for .22. However, i saw an slight improvement--they actually put up a sign here today that said 3 box limit on .22s. Ive never seen a sign stating that at this store. Hmmm, i wonder if things are actually starting to get better here??? Anyway, none here with the exception of their personal friends--give truthful info about when ammo gets stocked.
Only good thing i see is that the rest of the ammo choices are staying longer on the shelves than before but--I still aint seen anything .22 on the shleves hwere since last year--except short and rat shot.
