The sawtooth configuration of the projectile reminds me of the late Jim Cirrilo's "pin grabber" bullets - though the Pin Grabbers were designed for competition use (bowling pins). No doubt these Ammo Enema rounds will be expensive. I doubt I'd ever want to use them in a self defense shooting. No, I'll stick with conventional ammo like a good JHP, LSWC (aka "Keith" bullet), or even a conventional wadcutter round.
Regards,
Dave

Looks nasty, yes, but like the infamous RIP ammo it looks to me like a gimmick.
I think it would make for a messy autopsy, but quite possibly only after an assailant had seriously harmed the shooter.
Hell, I don't know--I'm just old-fashioned, I guess, but even if I carried a .380 I wouldn't load it with something like that.

I'd think that if you had to defend yourself at the GrandJury hearing these would not be in your favor. That is just my opinion however. That's why the PD used standard store bought ammo.

I have absolutely no doubt those bullets will do exactly the job they were designed to do -- eviscerate a sucker's wallet.

Ammo enema? That's the only name that they could come up with? I'd feel stupid buying it. It would be like picking up a box of tampons for the wife.

Agree 100%.
What is laughable is that these "new" bullets are basically an evolution of the Flechette rounds that the US Military did some experimenting with back in the 1950's. Turned out that lots of light little needles aren't a very effective man stopper and any fatality from these types of bullets is normally due to Infection, which can take days to weeks. Problem is the body is rather good at sealing up small holes even when there are a lot of them. So, anyone shot with this bullet can stay in the fight pretty effectively until Sepsis sets in, then it's a slow very painful death.
Then there is the matter that most people with a strong background in the dynamics of bullet injuries recommend AGAINST using a hollow point for the 380 ACP caliber, instead you are better off using ball ammo and letting in ping pong around the body cavity. The problem with hollow points in the 380 is a distinct lack of muzzle energy, any expanding bullet this light at these velocities just don't carry enough energy to provide adequate penetration.

I think they meant wallet enema, no?
I think those were already tested and considered a gimmick. I would think they would expand so quickly they wouldn't penetrate.

Gimmick. I'd want my bullet to retain it's mass. It's usually a bad sign when the bullets separate from the jacket. There are no magic bullets

This company has a lot of junk on their website. Fake badges, "agent" gear, non-firing replica firearms. And they have some guy firing this ammo, but they don't show the view of him actually hitting the target with 20 rounds, but they show the target after he's through firing. Besides, if this stuff's as great as they claim, you aren't gonna have to empty two mags into your target anyway.
The ammo may be a great product for all I know, but it's way too pricey (10 rounds/$30? C'mon.) and their whole site just looks hokey to me. Kinda like those old Spencer Gifts shops you used to see in malls back in the eighties. They do have a $750 "bullet proof" jacket for sale, though...looks just like a regular jacket. Might be interesting, I don't know.
And regarding the whole "ammo enema" thing? That's just...well, I don't know what to call it. Gross? Offensive? Nasty? Nauseating? You decide.
I'm just a cynic when it comes to stuff like this.

As I take it, you shoot them , what's a nice way to put this , rectally .... I mean that's where an enema goes right? I don't think so!
They need a new PR campaign . But they could play up the "lead free" angle. Kill you're intruder , cause massive internal damage , without causing his lead level to rise , hurting the environment or causing harm to our Condors!
Yeah, that's the ticket.

These are no more or less The G2 RIP rounds...and are basically a gimmick. A WAY overpriced gimmick.
