Federal 9mm Aluminum gone from Walmart?
Walmart had been doing fairly well keeping the new Federal aluminum in stock. I usually use the WM android app and search using the UPC feature.
Was working fine. I haven't seen any aluminum in almost a month and it is missing from WM's app.
Waiting for another run of ammo, or have they stopped carrying it?
Any ideas?

My nearby WM still has it. Not a lot of interest, it seems. But the stores have little say about what they get. A friend manages sporting goods at a different store says they get what comes, with little match to what they need. He has a cage full of shotgun shells, but not much else.
I think it is just a matter of what the warehouse gets from the factory.

I saw some in a local walmart last week. They had 9mm, 40 and 45 available. I reload but keep some aluminum cased ammo on hand for shooting in the winter outdoors so I dont have to dig for brass.

A little off subject but local WM here ran dry of ZQ1 9mm NATO. There was a little Federal and lots of Winchester WB.

The $12.97 ZQI 9mm hasnt been seen around here in awhile. The $21.97 ZQI continues to languish on the top shelf.
Winchester 115gr 100rnd value packs in abundant supply, so its not just a run on 9mm in general.

I think ammo availability varies widely depending on what part of the
country you live in. I bought two boxes of the Federal aluminum 9mm
and one box of the ZQI Nato 9mm from a local WM yesterday. They
have a three box limit total of all ammo bought per day. They had
several boxes of each on the shelf along with other brands but there's
no way to know what their total stocks are. 22 ammo is limited to one
box of 50 per day...when in stock.

I've been very happy with the Federal Aluminum in 9mm and 45acp. Shoots fine with no issues and is accurate in all my guns (2-9's & 2-45's). The local WM used to have a shelf full of all, but now it's kind of hit & miss. As stated above, the stores only get in what is shipped to them. And it appears that "region" does seem to have an effect of what's available.
This week there was no 9mm available and only a few 45's on the shelf :-( At least around here, the Federal is cheaper than the Blazer; appears that way on line also.

I wouldn't make too big a deal over not being able to find the new Aluminum cased Federal. If we remember back a couple years, Federal did the same thing with their 100 round Value Packs. They were very available for a Month or two, then they suddenly disappeared (I was pissed). After a few Months, they reappeared.
This is only speculation, but It seems that when Federal offers something 'new', rather than adding it to every day production right off the bat, they do a trial run to see if it's popular, sit back & crunch the numbers (how fast did it fly off the shelves, were there any areas that sold more than others, etc) for a couple Months, then determine if it's worth adding it to their regular production rotation.
Many seem to like the Aluminum cased option, so if enough people liked it, it'll probably be back next Quarter.

Same here. They tell me the home office sends what they deem to send and, yup--mostly shotgun shells in their cabinets here too.

Same here on all accouunts cept--the limit here on .22 (IF EVER IN STOCK?) is 3 boxes 50 a day. However, I havent seen any .22 available at any WM here in a year--cept for rat shot and 22.shorts--which ive no use for.

I think the aluminum is popular based on 2 things. My nearby range, which allows steel but not aluminum, is now insisting on checking your ammo. That tells me many people are suddenly trying to come in with the Fed AL they got at WW. And the 9mm 100 pks, which were a hot item a while back, are sitting for days.
No Fed Al in any caliber on my last WW trip, but it was about as wiped out as I've ever seen it. Very little pistol ammo and no .22 as usual.

Lol, I do the same thing. I will shoot aluminum cased or steel cased for that reason.
OP, I still see the aluminum cased Federal, in 9mm, in my local Wal Mart.

Good to know it is still out there.
This just may be a case of running out of the last production cycles product. Ive been told the HST runs are done in cycles, not constant production, may be the same with the aluminum and even the 100rnd valuepacks.
I was mainly concerned that the aluminum disappeared from the app and the website.

I actually had the same question. I saw it was gone at my local Walmart, only 40 and 45 left. Plenty of other 9mm selections but at $9.90 a box it was hard to beat.
It seemed popular here too.

Well, I picked up some aluminum cased Blazer there today, two boxes, to go with my Christmas gift from my wife.
I know, it's not the Shield I wanted, but considering she has never bought me a gun as a gift before, and it was in her price range, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Did a 9 hour road trip today. Stopped at a few WM stores that generally have ammo. Saw a lot of 9, 40, and 45 in aluminum. Probably just a matter of what shows up at the distribution center.

As an update, I saw that the .40 and .45 aluminum had been replenished at my local store.
Still no 9mm, but it could have already been sold. The shelf space is still marked for it.

There is still AL 9mm in several WalMarts I see in my travels, also .45.
.380 has joined .22 on the AWOL list lately, but when it was last on the shelf, it was Remington UMC JHP in 100 boxes at a great price.
Last night stopped by at my regular WM hoping (yeah, sure) to replenish some of what was used in the afternoon - mgr advised there has been no ammo at all this week. Not even shotgun shells.

Passed by WM tonight, late, too late for the 4 M-22 1000 round boxes, but there were still some CCI Mini-Mag solid point boxes. Since my pistol prefers that CCI, it worked for me.
Mgr said it was the most .22 they had gotten in months, but by now, it is gone.

I bought three boxes of Federal aluminum 9mm last night at the same
WM that I bought some about a month ago. When I got home I
checked the lot numbers and they are different than the ones I got
before so it appears that they are still receiving shipments. They had
other brands of 9mm also but not one single box of 22s.

When I first started seeing/buying it, I think people were weary of how it'd work. Even the department guy said one customer yelled at him when he found out it wasn't brass. For the most part, it was always still sitting on the shelf when I'd go there. Seems like the (good) word is out and people are buying it whenever it's available.
I'm sure it'll be back on the shelf for ya at some point.
