How old is this ammo?
What is the approximate age of this .32acp ammo? Thanks in advance!

Both are pre-WWII, likely late 1930s. Lot numbers stamped on boxes would tell the tale.

I've had them for quite some time and have been stored properly. Both are full boxes.Unless they have some collector value, I suspect I'm going to use them for their intended purpose pretty soon.....

Checking may rapidly vanishing memory, I did a search on the boxes after my first post. The Western "Bullseye" box was listed in a 1936 catalog and also in a 1942 catalog. The Winchester box I believe to be pre war as well but cant remember which book to look in to get the actual dates.

Dwalt checked via lot number and informed me that the Winchester was from '35 and the Western '39.

If this stuff is just coming up in the rotation to be fired, we have a problem. Either you need less ammo, or you need to go shooting a bit more often.
Don't over estimate the collector value. With the now 2 year ammo shortages, shooting ammo has caught up to collectors ammo. A few years ago I bought a Colt (heresy, I know) that was chambered in 32 Colt. There was about none to be had in any gun store around here. But the collectors tables in gun shows had the stuff for around $30 a box. A steal since .32 S&W ammo was about the same price at the ammo sellers. The problem I ran into was the collectors were crooks and stuffed S&W ammo in the Colt boxes. New rule of life, don't buy anything wrapped in plastic.

I'll admit it. I'm an ammo hoarder. I have ammo in calibers I no longer own. I have been given a lot of ammo over the years and bought more than I can remember.
Recently, my agency transitioned to the .45 from .40 caliber. I wound up with several free boxes of practice and defense ammo from the rangemaster as the department no longer needed it & I have a .40. A friend of mine sold his 9x18mm Makarov and offered me the ammo he still had. I met with him & he GAVE me almost a full case. Over 900 rounds!
Another friend was cleaning out a deceased relative's house and gave me several hundred rounds in various calibers that I have & he doesn't........
