As I've always wanted a "hand cannon", I finally just scratched the itch and ordered a 460 XVR 8 3/8" barrel.
Now I'm looking for good all purpose ammo. Gun will be used for fun at the range, but I'd like to be shooting ammo that will work for deer as well as big game also. Something that has a consistent POI/POA up to 200 yards out. I realize the best bear round probably isn't going to be the best deer hunting round as well, but I'm looking for one type of factory ammo to stock up on that I can use for just about anything.

Don't know if you have found the ammo that you like yet. But use the hornady 200 grain ftx muzzle 2200fps 50 yds 1948 fps 100yds 1715 fps I have shot deer with at 100-150 yds. It hits hard and makes a nice hole in them. I also use this for black bear in pa I have not shot a bear with it yet but seeing what it dose to a deer it will do the job on a bear to. At 100yds the grouping is great can keep them all within 1/4 inch. That's off a set of sand bags. With a lot practice I can keep them in a 4 inch group freehand.
