Reputable manufactures / websites for bulk online ammo purchase
Greetings,
I would like to order some bulk 9mm / .45 acp target ammo, but am unsure of any reputable manufactures as well as the URL’S they can be found. I have been told that some great deals can be found online, but am a bit apprehensive when it comes to ammo. Your thoughts would be great.
Thanks in advance
Ken

I tend to order from sportsmansguide.com, they often have free shipping with no or a $49 minimum. For bulk ammo purchases I tend to stay with Remington or Winchester generic but others can comment on the other brands available. Hope this is helpful.

Anyone have any luck with the ammo bots? The websites that search the prices and availability.

I typically use either sgammo or ammunition depot. I've never had any problems with either.

For real time prices of many reputable sellers you can check gunwatcher or gunbot. I would say most if not all of the sellers on there are gtg. I've also ordered from this seller on gunbroker. They sell a lot of speer lawman for great prices and it's free shipping. I just recently ordered a case and it arrived in three days.
Once you find some sellers you like I would sign up for email newsletters and back-in-stock notifications. Some ammo, especially defensive rounds, sell out so quickly if you don't catch it within the first couple days you'll miss out

Not sure what you mean by "luck", but that's how I found the 2 sites I use. It's an effective tool, especially if you're buying lots of ammo, which I am usually not.

I have bought from Natchez, Cabela's, Midway, Ammoman and have never had any problems. The problem with ordering on-line is the shipping cost. You have to add shipping to whatever deal you're looking at and verify the cost per round. Typically, you're best off buying a case because shipping starts off pretty high but doesn't go up proportionally as you add more boxes (I'm talking 50 round boxes - 20 of which make up a case).
In general, I've been able to get ammo at a good price delivered to my home. I can't say I've got any fantastic deals, but I think I've got better practice ammo for the price of cheaper ammo at say the local WalMart.

In addition to the ones Jerry N. mentioned:
SGAmmo
Bulk Ammo
Ammo For Sale
Ammunition Depot
Streicher's Police Equipment (at least for Federal ammo)
and manufacturer's websites for more specialty ammo like Precision One or DoubleTap.

+2 for Freedom Munitions. Both remanufactured and new. Very competitive prices. If you get on the mailing list they run free shipping specials. I got a shipment of 1000 rounds each of .380 ACP, 9mm and .45ACP with free shipping last year.

Please note that this post only applies to the 49 state people. In New York State, the "SAFE" Act prevents direct purchases of ammunition on line. All purchases must be "face to face". In addition, shortly anyone attempting to purchase ammunition must pass a background check and have personal information, quantity, caliber and type fed into a state database.
Consider this a warning; it could be coming to a state near you.

Freedom Munitions and Georgia arms are both good to go. Only thing about Freedom Munitions if you order and are on the East coast it will take about a week +_ a day or two. Their ammo is top drawer though.

i tend to order from Cabelas and Gander Mt (when not near a store); Cabelas has a pretty good sale going on with $5 shipping at $99 purchase. I just picked up some Blazer Brass 9mm $11.99/50 which for my range needs works just fine. I cant speak for their pricing on other higher caliber ammo as I only use 9mm and .22; but my order placed 2/11 shipped 2/12 and will be here today. Pretty darn good turn time.

Gotta give Freedom Munitions a nod too. 1st time customers get free shipping and if you watch, they run a sale everyday 5% off. For about $.20 a round for 9MM you can't beat that.

I will not buy from Ammunition Supply Co.
I will not buy from Ammunition Supply Co. Long story, but they did not ship some green tip I ordered just hours after the ATF ban - love that agency - was announced. They credited my account 4 days later without telling me - just found out about it today. Now I am Sierra Oscar Lima for getting reasonably priced green tip.
I actually do not need it, but bought it as an act of defiance.
........and domestic.

My local shop will accept your mail-order delivery, and handle the upcoming check for you free of charge. Since he sells only firearms & leather, it's no competition and brings more folks into his store. If you're near Ulster County, New York, send me a PM & I'll give you his contact information.

For what its worth, I came across a site called Bangitammo.com (Real BAD Name). They stock a line named Precision ONe. Never heard of it, never fired it. But first thing they said is their ammo is FMJ the reason is when lead is fired through a firearm some of the lead turns into vapor and in door ranges it is real bad to breath it. The FMJ keeps this from happening. Never really thought of it but, it makes sense to me. Lastly I fire .44 magnum and .44 Special in my 629. A box of the precision ONe 250 count of 44 Mag 240Gr FMJ is $114.68 or $.46 per round. If you can find 44 mag rounds damn near nobody has them in stock and if they do the cost $.12 to $.20 more per round. But in the end the proof is in the shooting. So when I send some down range I will let you know. Scott
