Default 500 Magnum Ammo question

Ok so I'm wondering if anyone knows a reliable place to buy Ammo for a 500 magnum? I ordered some 500 Magnum rounds from Selway Armory and they sent me 500 Special rounds. I know the 500 special rounds will fire out of my 500 Magnum, but the problem is that even the packing list says 500 S&W Magnum and the box of bullets are 500 specials. I'm Wanting to know if anyone else has had this problem or where y'all get y'all's ammo from.

Sounds like someone pulled the wrong ammunition off the shelf and shipped it to you.

Just call the vendor and have them send you what you paid for.

I can not recommend anyone as I never bought any 500 Ammo. My 500s have always been fed handloads.

Yea I'm wanting to get into loading my own before too long. I have a friend who reloads .44 Magnums and said he spends if I remember right I think he said $0.20 something a round. As far as having them send me the right ammo it took me over a week to get what they sent I ordered it 2/6/15 and just got it today.

Ordering ammo takes time. That being said I've had 3 misshipments in 20 years. Every time they have not wanted the wrong item back, not work return shipping and most cases they wouldn't risk reselling after it had been out of hand. Every one of the 3 companies wanted proof, a picture did for all of them, and they shipped out my item. Each time I got to keep the wrong item, 1 I had no use for and traded for a gun.
Give them a chance to make it right.

I've searched high and low for cheap ammo for the 500 'till I finally said the heck with it and invested in a reloading set-up. However one site I found I seriously considered buying from was Matt's Bullet's:

500 S&W : Matts Bullets Ammunition

The reviews I read were all good and I like to support small business's.. However I've found that I REALLY like to shoot the gun and it's a lot more economical to reload!! After a lot of research I've got the price down to about $0.35/round ready to shoot!!

But I'm still wanting to get a sample pack from him just for grins and giggle's.....

This is an older 725 grain wadcutter pictured with a Factory Remington 250 grain, 41 Magnum CastCore hunting load.

A hard cast projectile like the 725 wadcutter will enter a hogs shoulder, traverse the spine, exit the back end and still bury itself deep into the dirt.

Go Garrets or Buffalo Bore for some heavy load stuff but it's a bit pricey.

You can also go to www.loadX.com where he does reloads, or, has new ammo. He can reload your brass also. Very reasonable in price. I use his 500 magnum a lot.
