Default Federal Law Enforcement 9mm Luger Ammo 115 Grain JHP

Thoughts on this ammo? Can get a deal for 1000 for about .32 round.

If you are talking about the 115gr +P+ 9mm 9BPLE it is good defensive ammo but is hot.

While it is a fine and proven self defense load it will be hard on any handgun and I personally see no reason to abuse my guns with 1K rounds of the stuff though I do keep a few boxes on hand and load it in my Glock 19 as carry and home defense ammo. +P+ will void all warranties on your guns and you shoot it with the risk of that. It should only be shot from good condition firearms one typically sees in use by Law Enforcement if you want them to last. See this video test on 9BPLE

If your talking about Federal standard pressure 115gr JHP 9BP then there would be no issue of over pressure ammo, warranties would remain in tact, and any mechanically sound handgun designed for 9mm would be able to handle it.

The standard velocity has performed as good as any other standard velocity HP ammo for self defense in full size handguns but in some YouTube tests doesn't fair near as well through denim as the +P+ suff does.

I agree with Steve C above. I have 5-6 boxes I keep to load my carry 9mm but I do not regularly shoot the +P+ stuff. It really slams everything.

Excellent round. Buy several box's for self defense and don't over due it. As for damages,... my former place of employ mandated Federal 124 Plus P Plus rounds for approximately 4 years as a duty round. We had no issues with any handgun manufacturer but that may have changed.
