Looks Like I'm Set For a While
Looking for something last night that is in my closet of hunting/shooting gear. While looking I came across some long forgotten about ammo. I'll pick up a box or two here and there when it's a decent price. I found 50 round boxes, 20 round boxes and even a 25 round box, there was .44 magnum, .357 magnum .45acp, .454 Casull, various rifle ammo and well over 1,000 .22lr rounds. I knew some of it was there but had forgotten what calibers and just how much. Still need to pick up a couple of boxes of different bullet weights in a particular caliber, may do that tonight.

Sounds like Kid44 found a stash of ammo he forgot he had and is happy about it; I would be, too.

Age is galloping down hill
Sounds like Kid44 is over the hill, forgetting the stuff he has bought, and doesn't go to the range often enough. Maybe that is why I have 6 tape measures.

You can NEVER have 'too much ammo'. If you never believed that before, current pending ATF 'legislation' should make you re-think that opinion.

Exactly, sheesh if you can't tell the folks here, who else is gonna understand?
Reminds me I need to organize my own locker. It's growing beyond it's current capacity.

The guy's just making conversation. What's the problem?
Wish I could find some of that "forgotten about ammo".

I keep everything except shotgun ammo in a safe, but the stuff in the back becomes a mystery after a while. It's like finding a 20 dollar bill in an old coat after many years. WooHoo!

I am , in fact, over the hill! And on the down hill slide. I recently found, in my reloading/junk room, 2, 525 packs of Rem hollow points and a brick of American eagle hollow points that I bought just after I moved into this house (8 years ago). Pushed to the back of the ammo shelves that I store my reloads on. It was a good day! I am something of a pack rat and tend to forget what I bought (This might be why, in a recent inventory of my reloading dies, I discovered that I own 6 sets of 30-06 dies.) When I pass to the great-range-in-the-sky, someone will go into my man cave and say " What in the Hell was he thinking!" I am OK with that! Just sayin.

E-1911, Bought the first set when I first started out in 60s. Stuck a case, no stuck case remover, easier to just buy a second set. Did. Fix first set and put back on the shelf. Bought a guys reloading stuff, after he decides it is too much work. Another set of 06. Bought a really nice Rem 03-A3 That came with a set of dies. Box of reloading junk at yard sale- cheap- in bottom of box another set of 06 (with stuck case- broken off- he didn't have a stuck case remover either.) That die has been an ongoing project for several years, tried all the tricks I know, no luck! So, last but not least. After a long session at the bench and many harsh words and 06 dies on my brain, I go to work, last fall and towards the end of the day, I flash through the various sales on the net and BEHOLD! Midway has RCBS 06 dies on sale for 1980 prices!. Not doing the inventory in the head thing, just looking at the slammin deal, I hit the order button and Waa Laa! I am now the proud owner of no less than 6 sets of 06 dies. I keep telling myself that I am going to throw away that die with the stuck case but alas, I am too cheap and it still sits on my bench, beside the vice. Every once in a while, when I am feeling good about myself, I go down and work on the die for a few minutes to bring myself down to earth.. GB

AH HA!!! Keep digging. Perhaps we will now get to the bottom of where all the .22LR is!
Sorry, just had to...
