Last Sunday I went to a big retail outlet store to buy a Ruger 10/22. It was close to closing time. I asked if they kept 22 ammo in the back for gun buyers. The reply was yes. He brought out a 1400 round bucket of 22 LR, REM.
They developed phone trouble and could not call out. Asked if I could come back Monday. I said yes can I pay for the ammo now? $69.00 plus tax.
I picked up the Ruger and the guy said "need ammo?", I said yes. He went in the back and brought out a 1400 round bucket. Another 69.00 plus tax. I said this won't make you short for other gun sales will it? He said no we have way more ammo than 22's.
In 3 years I had found and bought one 325 round box of 22 ammo.
Now I know the secret. Buy a new Ruger 10/22 for 199.99 and get 1400 rounds. Shoot 1300 rounds sell the gun and a hundred rounds, go get another Ruger.........
