22lr availability
Picked up 1000 rounds in the last 2 weeks at Cabelas.
Went today and they had 500 rnd boxes of Norma , 300 rnd boxes of CCI mini mags, 50 rnd boxes of CCI standard, and 325 boxes of Fed. auto match. Limit 50 rnds to a customer.
Sales rep said that the shortage was easing and their limit changed from 100 to 500.

This morning Academy had three 1400-round buckets of Rem Golden Bullets. Lasted all of five minutes, but there were some, and on a normally off day. Manager looked up the warehouse info, and they had shipped out all there was, so they are not really building stock, but more likely the buying has tapered off just a bit. They also had several other brands, about a case each of Remington Viper, Winchester Super-x, Winchester Longs, and the ever-present Aquila.
We talked about it a bit (was early for appointment across the street). They had not seen anything off the truck the day before, and think it might have been a shuffle to outwit the flippers that are at the door every Monday morning.
WalMart has been bare-shelves for several weeks except for some CCI shotshell and .22 shorts.

Last week I found shelves full of 22LR ammo ranging from $30-$90 per 500. I didn't buy any.

Usually had good luck at Bass Pro nearby for 22 mag. Struck out this week. Usually CCI 40 grain or Rem. 40 grain are in stock. Hope things ease up soon.

I got to do something the other day I haven't been able to do in a long time, actually see, handle and purchase .22 ammo. I was cruising my local Wal Mart and their laminated "no .22 ammo today" sign wasn't turned around, so I started perusing the shelves, and lo and behold, .22 ammo. It was Federal 325 round Match auto in a white box, they had 5 boxes left so I bought one at 18.97. I figured I'd give the next guy a chance also...

The big box stores around here don't have any at all .. Manager at Big "R" told me he can't get any ..

The local store had a pallet of it. I bought the max 3 boxes for just short of $61 after tax. Was a time I'd have gotten 6 boxes of 550 Federal for that. Joe

Was visiting daughter in phx and stopped at w-m two days ago and no Perfecta or Fed. alum. cased 9 mm. Stopped again this afternoon before heading home and found Perfecta, still 10.97 a box, but also some Win. super-x .22 long rifle for 9.47 a 100. snatched up 3 of those.

The range I go to has had 22LR that last three of four times I have been there. Two weeks ago they had some Federal 325 pack for $30, I passed. I went last night and they had the CCI tactical 333 box for $30. I also passed. Saw some 500 bricks of Federal for $40. I also passed.
At least the ammo is returning, but I don't like paying that much for it if I can help it.

Don't have a 22 right now but the range I go to has 3 or 4 different brands and maybe 10 different kind all told .. didn't really look just noticed they had so much .. owner said he could get all I wanted .. said he hasn't had any trouble lately ..
Now Wally World where I'm at doesn't have hardly any ammo at all except shot gun shells .. and no 22 at all ad no 17 .. heard a man and his son as for both. They have them locked up under a counter and you can't see what is in the cabinet ..
I get most of my 9mm and 40S&W on sale at Big R's or at our local BPS. wait for sales and then load up what I can..
Started a habit since I retired to put 30-40 bucks a week back for ammo .. has worked pretty well these past few years .. Slowly filling my cabinet full ..
