Default Ruger's ARX 9mm Intercept why or why not?

Guys, I was looking at possibly switching from traditional 115gr Critical Defense to this ammo. I watched some reviews and seen it go through 2x4 wood and then 12" into Geliten. Do any of you plan on switching to this and why or why not?

Anyone else see Ruger's new ammunition line?

The PolyCase ARX, LeHigh, Devel, THV, and similar designs all trade permanent cavity for temporary cavity which is not a significant wounding effect at pistol velocities.

Before asking "What ammo should I use?" you should ask "What should ammo do, what shouldn't it do, and how is it tested?" I recommend the following:
Handgun Wounding Factors and Effectiveness by the Firearms Training Unit of the FBI
Basic Wound Ballistic Terminal Performance Facts by Dr. Roberts (DocGKR)
Ordnance gelatin test assessment for rifle and pistol calibers by Dr. Roberts (DocGKR)
What's Wrong With The Wound Ballistics Literature And Why by Dr. Fackler

For specific recommendations I start here:
Service Caliber Handgun Duty and Self-Defense Ammo by Dr. Roberts (DocGKR)

Ultralight and fast designer ammunition will not function reliably in many semi-automatic pistols.

Polycase's ARX bullet is being loaded by several boutique ammo companies but it is still an unproven bullet design.

If you want to trust your life to an unproven design and become Polycase's Guinea pig, have at it. I suggest that you shoot a minimum of 200 rounds with zero malfunctions before carrying it.

I haven't read anything about that, but that can happen with any ammo company.

Have you got some hard data on that? I can't recall a ka-boom involving any ammo from a mainstream ammo company.

I've never personally seen it happen but I've read of numerous incidents of kBooms with all different calibers and manufacturers over the years. This includes squib loads and incidents with no primer flash holes in the cases. Seems to be happening more often since the big ammo run starting back in 2008.

so far no bad reviews..............?

380 at 1245fps...........
and the 40 S&W ..........

both bullets could be reloaded since they did not expand !!

I guess that might be good for those that reload, if they can get the bullets back ?

There are no magic bullets. I have become content to pick a projectile that shoots accurately out of my guns and meets the FBI spec. If it has a real world track record, even better. For me that is either Gold Dot or HST depending on caliber. Someone may come out with something a bit better, but I'll just work on accuracy and follow up shot speed. I see no point in chasing the latest gimmick.

The links posted above provide good information.

The reason the ARX bullets didn't expand is because they're not designed to expand...
