A local gunshop has several boxes of PPU .32 S&W Long on its shelves. I've never used any of this brand. It says it is made in Serbia but the box doesn't say whether the ammunition is non-corrosive or not. Anybody have any definitive information as to whether this ammunition is non-corrosive?

I believe that it is. I bought some in 38 S&W and reviews were good.

Good quality ammo. I shoot it in .223, 30-30 and 7mm. Check out their website.

I tried some in 10mm and found that it was pretty low power. Also, the brass was not very good for reloading. I've heard the .223 is decent, but IME, I wouldn't buy PPU ammo.

I've used it for years in 8mm, 30/06, and 303 Brit. it has always been good ammo in my guns and the cases are good for reloading (or so I've been told by my friends to whom I give the brass).

I have been shooting ppu for a few years now in .45 ACP, 38 S&W, 22-250, and just put 150 rounds of .357 magnum down range a week and a half ago in my Smith revolver. I've even reloaded those same .357 rounds already and haven't a had any issues on that front either. They use non-corrosive primers and powder. You can check their website if you want but I have found their ammo to be just as good as your average American made stuff (even heard that ppu has supplied some of our troops stationed in the Middle East on occasion). Also I found their .357 ammo to be pretty hot, their 22-250 is pretty fast too. Just my two cents.

I've only tried PPU ammo in one caliber, 32ACP and it is underpowered
compared to any other 32ACP I have ever used. Don't expect to buy
any more. Any currently produced ammo for export sale these days is
going to be non corrosive. The only corrosive primed ammo you will
see for sale will be older military ammo originally produced for
government issue that has been released as surplus.

I've liked their .308 , 6.5x55 Mauser , 7.65.54R, and .375 H&H soft points. The 8mm Mauser standard stuff is powder puff of powder puff. I NRA did a test using them in the reproduction FG42, and it was anemic, and I can tell shooting it myself. Its loaded to the American SAAMi low pressure standard, and I think they under did it in their 196 grain load. It shoots low from both my Mausers, and its not much compared to S&B European style loads. The brass is good, all in all.

I've used their .380ACP, 44Mag, and 5.56 stuff. The .380 and 44Mag seems warm to me, definitely hotter than other well known brands but not bad. Their 5.56 is IMO as good as anything but my PSA AR is not very picky on what it eats and groups don't vary much at all between different brands of ammo.

It's none corrosive

use the 7.62 x 54R in my mosin, seems to work well in it, planning on reloading 100 of them soon.

I've bought .38 S&W, .38 spl, 7.62x51, .30-06 Garand, & .303.
Quality ammo. Plus great brass for reloading. Important because I reload more than buy factory ammo.

I don't know about their .32 ammo but, I've bought and used their 7.62x54R. The shells are zinc coated to prevent corrosion and they seem to have a bit more umph than the surplus stuff.
The kick/recoil is noticeably harder when I'm shooting the PPU.

Zinc? Did it come in a cardboard box of 15?

I have only bought the 9mm ammo..........

All fired and all ejected in the 3.5" C9 and 4" XD9.

Rifle ammo is cheap and looks very nice............

I've shot lots of their .380, 9mm, 38 special, and a little 5.56. It's been good to me. It's my favorite .380 ammo, and up there with anything else in every caliber I've used. They also make Academy's brass cased store brand pistol ammo. Good stuff.

I've used it in several calibers, and it's pretty good. 9x19, seems to be along the lines of the other European brands like Sellier & Bellot and Fiocchi, a little more pop than WWB or Blazer Brass it seems.

I've shot 30/30 for my Winchester and it seems fine, and it's the only viable option for 7.65 Argentine (I don't reload, but it seems like a box of PPU ammo is cheaper than empty Norma brass; I'm saving the cases to eventually reload).

Yeah, well, after about an hour of extensive research I found nothing that shows any proof that any PPU ammo, rifle or otherwise, is being made in the U.S.

Any proof to the contrary would be welcomed.

Prvi Partizan does not make ammo with zinc plated cases. Zinc plating is only needed to prevent corrosion on steel cases and PPU doesn't make steel cased ammo.

Correct. This was why I asked. They did have 7.62x54 military corrosive ammo. There were two types. One was re labeled Russian ammo and the other was Russian ammo that they pulled apart and added different powder and projectile.

If it was zinc, came in a brown cardboard box and had a white sticker on it "METAKA" then it was Milsurp corrosive. Good stuff but corrosive

Hmm.........maybe I'm mistaken about the brand name. All I know for sure is, it wasn't Silver Bear or Tulammo. I do remember the box was black, not blue like Silver Bear. It's been awhile so, I don't remember exactly.

During the ammo shortage, PPU was one of the many brands I came across, and based on my experience with them, I wouldn't hesitate buying again. In 9mm the rounds were clean and grouped consistently, and I had no failures.

From what I've read on the internet, PPU cases are good to go, more resilient than S&B.

Academy's house brand (Monarch) is PPU if it's brass; just like it seems Cabela's house brand (Herter's) is Sellier and Bellot if brass. People seem to do fine with both these brands.

One extra reason to support them, they make factory rounds in a TON of oddball cartridges, and sell them at Walmart prices. 7.65 Argentine, 20rds for $16, good example. I haven't found anything else in that caliber for under $30. Like I said in my above post, empty Norma brass costs more than that. And there are other calibers like that: if PPU makes it, it will be affordable cheap.
