hi all, just had an email from Cabelas that today they have Blazer Brass 115fmj on sale for only $9.99 which for me is a great price for ammo that works real well. So just passing the info along.

SGAmmo generally has it for $9.99 but you have to buy it by the case to get that price. Shipping on case is only $16 so that's how I've been buying it lately.

You can get that price all the time from
SGammo.com
They have that price for the 115 and the 124 grain.
They even have brass blazer 45 for $259 a 1000 rd case
SG buys it by the truck load and passes the savings down to the customer
The best part is you dont even have to leave the house to buy it!!!!!

wow, free shipping offer today too, thanks for sharing. I have used a lot of this blazer brass 115gr without a problem too. About my favorite for low recoil too.

good to know on SGAmmo, never looked at them before. Though I've been able to take advantage of good sale prices at Gander & Cabelas (and maybe their $20 off $100, etc) and am minutes away from both so even if i needed store pickup to save freight, it wasn't an issue.
And as it appears the spring household project list is tapping into my range fun ammo budget, picking up just a few boxes here and there at times works out for me

And to think 10 years ago it wasn't too hard to find factory 9mm at around $5-$6/box. You can't get a box of .22s for that now. I figure reloading 9mm runs me about 15 cents a round, so if foregoing the labor of reloading is worth $2.50/box to you, you are better off buying.

I was looking at some of the online ammo sites a few days ago. It's pretty bad when 50 rounds of 22LR cost as much as 50 rnds of 9mm.

this is why I enjoy this forum the most; I try to help my peeps and end up getting help myself lol. Thanks for the tips on SG, will have to give them a look.
Cuz as much as i like shooting my full size 9 at the range (using all 5 mags), buying ammo a couple boxes at a time does not last very long.....

Best price I saw at the Academy store tonight was the "Monarch" house brand, Russian with steel case and 115 grain FMJ bullet, at $10.99/box

I've had issues with Monarch in both 380 and 9mm steel and brass cased. Quite a few (maybe 4 to 5 per box) wouldn't fire on the first strike. Several of those took more than two strikes and at least 5 rounds out of 5 boxes wouldn't fire no matter how many times you hit it. Won't buy that stuff again.

Surprised that Academy would sell it were it that unreliable. No idea what Russian maker it was - Bernal? Tula? Some other loader?

I have been using SG for several years and find the firm to be very good on delivery, price, service, etc. When they say it is in stock, it is; when it says out of stock, it is; no credit card is processed until it ships. (No I do not work for them. I just appreciate honest service & products for my money.)
