I was killing some time at one of the local Academy stores tonight and saw something I had not seen in recent history - LOTS of .22 LR right out in the open stacked high on the counter, and no purchase limit - CCI, Winchester, Federal, Browning, Remington, and Aguila.
Best price (per unit) was the Remington 525 bulk pack - $28, followed by the Remington 100 round box at $7.48. CCI 100s were 13.95, not so great. Aguila 500 round bricks at $50. So has supply finally caught up with demand?
Yes, things are much better. I'm signed up for notifications from various internet sellers. The offers are more frequent and prices are better. I've pretty much stopped trying retailers here but friends tell me Scheels has 22 ammo in quantity. A local friend told me his small town gun shop had a pallet load of Aguila 22LR at about $35/brick.
