Does anyone have any information about this ammo? BBM is Battle Born Munitions, Reno, NV. They apparently re-box ammunition made by Denel PMP of South Africa. I know nothing about Denel. Is it good quality, reloadable, 9x19MM Lugar ammo? Thanks in advance.
I bought a half case, 500 rds, of PMP 9mm 115 gr FMJ ammo several
years ago at a gun show. I still have a few boxes left. It is great
looking ammo but it is some of the worst 9mm ammo I have ever
bought. It is typical of the new production 9mm made for export to
the US in being underloaded to the point of being unable to cycle
the action of some of my guns. I have chronographed it at only about
1060 fps out of my Browning HP, which doesn't function with it. This
is poor performance for 115 gr 9mm ammo. I will never buy another
box. sgammo.com has 115 gr Blazer Brass ammo for 9.99 a box in
case lots of 1000 with only a shipping charge of around $16. They
have several other good deals on 9mm also. I have bought from them
several times and they are top notch.
In the past I've shot small amounts of both PMP (stamped PMP) and Denel (stamped DNL) in 9mm. I found it no better nor worse than any other factory 9mm.
It appears that Battle Born Munitions is a primary importer of Denel 9mm (and some rifle calibers). Strange that the last time I was in Reno I never did find anybody that was selling BBM 9mm at retail shops.
