Default .44 MAGTECH

I'm just looking for a few opinions on MAGTECH .44 240gr sjsp ammo....if you have shot with it...like it or hate it..just got a box for 39.99, I prefer the S&B for the range at$34.99 a box of 50.

I've shot a little of it, maybe about 20 rounds. Not as hot as some but a little hotter than others. Accuracy was good and not too awfully dirty. Most of what I have is Prvi Partizan 240gr JSP which is definitely hotter and maybe a tad cleaner. Never shot the S&B. I shoot it out of a Ruger Super Redhawk with the 9.5" barrel.

FYI, SGAmmo sells Magtech and Prvi Partizan for $28.95 per box and the S&B is $29.95 per box. Their shipping is very reasonable and fast.

It will be a decent full powered load in a 3" 629.
I also have a 3" 629-5 and most of the time use the Magtech 240gr...which looks more like a jhp with the hollow point mostly filled in. It's good ammo.

I've shot about 400 rounds of it. Completely agree with ballistic and otreb. Only big thing I noticed is in the same box I've experienced significantly different power in some of the rounds. Nothing that turned me off, and not in every box. Its probably just the Monday and Friday made ammo. I shoot a lot of there .500 mag, and find the same results from time to time. But I only use it for range ammo.
