Default S&W 648 Accuracy pt.2

I started this thread in the revolver 1980 to present forum a few weeks ago. I was trying to figure out why this gun was so inaccurate and the forum members gave me some good advice. It turned out to be an ammo issue, hence I moved this to the ammo thread. The CCI ammo (which works well in my Ruger and Henry rifle) does not perform well at all in the 648. I benched the gun at 10 yards and fired CCI, Armscor, and Federal. The Armscor made a tremendous improvement in accuracy and the Federal was better yet. I am surprised that differntvammo could make such a difference in a quality firearm.

You need not be surprised by this as it has nothing to do with the quality of the firearm.
Rimfires are known for being particular in what they really like.

It takes some experimentation with any gun to find what it likes centerfire included. It is one reason why reloading is a popular hobby as you customize/tune a load for your particular gun.

Never know what a weapon will like, ammo wise.

Just way too many variables.................
Glad to see you found a good load.

Always nice to be able to cut a group in half, or more !!

We like to see pics of the 648,,, TOO!!

I have been pretty lucky with my rimfires,, most are acceptable with bulk ammo.

I have never fired my 22 Magnum cylinder in my Ruger Single Six.
I guess I will have to try it to see if it is "finicky",,,
