Appreciate anyone's experience with this loading including chrono data.

Practical experience: Had 3 blow up on the shoulder of a 200 lb feral sow from about 6 feet. Also, a 130 lb boar from 6-8 feet.

Went to a 41 mag or 45 Colt after that.

Thank you for your input. A 158 gr cast SWC probably wouldn't do that, and may drill right through those tough hogs depending on angle. Probably JSP would be better for side shots on deer.

I'm more interested in a factory type range load, of magnum power.

Friend peeled 6 off the chest of an Alaskan bear that died from a rifle.
The soft point Remington 158s are not made for penetration, but a NOSLER is, and works better on pigs. I never shot a bear, never plan to.
By the way, I've seen cast bullets hit a bone in a pig and stop right there. Like BearBio, I think hunting pigs with a .357 is great fun until the big one shows up...where's the tree?
