About three years ago I was paying $39.95 for brick of CCI when I could find it. Having built up a good stock of ammo I have not bought any 22 in awhile. So what is the going price on 22 these days? I saw some Winchester power point for .10 a round at Midway. Is that high or about the going rate nowadays?

10 cents a round seems to be the new norm for about any 22 ammo. Occasionally you can see 8 or 9 cents if on sale. Don't know about on line sales.

I paid 8 cents a round today for CCI Mini Mag at Academy. Sometimes they have the Remington Golden Bullet 1400 round buckets (used to be $69.99, now $79.99).

So the good news is that unlike two years ago, a variety of .22 ammo is currently on the shelves of most retailers. Rationing is gone now too. The not so good news is that it's gone up about 20% since the last time it was plentiful. That said, the norm of 7-10 cents per round does not inhibit stocking up (once you get over the fact that it will never be 5 cents again.)

The LGS that I frequent has all that you want for 10 cents/rnd. I occasionally find it a little cheaper at Cabelas online.

I see it all over for 10 cents a round, but you,can still find it for 8 cents if,you're patient. Those $10 bricks from the seventies are gone forever, I'm afraid.

7-10 cents a round is pretty common around the DFW area for .22lr. Anytime a store sells for less than that, the ammo doesn't last long. It seems there are still some hoarders around these parts, as Academy still has a 500 round limit per day (not that, that is really a limit per se).

I recently bought a double box of Winchester M22 that had two smaller 500 round boxes in it (1000 rounds) for $50.87 at Wal-Mart. It was right at 5 1/2 cents a round after tax. I rarely see 22lr there, but apparently I just happened by at the right time. Except for that nice find, I've found that 10+ cents a round ammo is a lot more common than 5 or 6 cents a round ammo is.

Cheapest I have seen recently is the 1400 round bucket of Remingtons (at Academy) at about a nickel per round. I bought a 550 round Remington bulk pack at Wal-Mart for a little over six cents per round, about a month ago.

i mostly pick up mine at Gander & Cabelas and CCI mini mags run in the .08-.09 area and at times Fed Automatch in the .06-.07 range. I don't bother looking at other brands, try to stock with one of the several mini mag options if able.
I either order enough asst stuff to hit their level for free ship to home, or as both stores are just minutes from where i'm at i can always pick up in store (should goods be available online but not on the shelf that day).

I have seen Dicks run good sales on .22 ammo but they are in store only. And on occasion PSA online will have the Fed Automatch under .08 per round and they may include free ship if you buy "x" # of boxes.

Dunham's in SE Michigan has the Remington Golden Hollow point 525 bulk pack for $34.95 plus tax. Comes out to just over $.07 each OTD.

The cheapest .22lr I've found was at Bass Pro Shop outside Fort Myers, FL. earlier this summer. They had a 325 round bulk boxes of Federal 40gr LRN for $19.99 a box. That's back down in the 6 cents a round range. I've probably bought and shot 5 boxes. One day there was a two box limit, every other time there was a one box limit. Despite the appeal of the price, one session at the range shooting CCI changed my mind about ever shooting Federal again in my 617.

22 is back..., sorta. We buy as much as we can get when we can get it. I still have a stash behind the counter for a buffer. We try to always have some for the guys that buy a 22. The Fed Auto Match runs about 6 cents a round and the Mini Mag we sell for about 9 cents. The Remington buckets are $75 ish when we can get them. 22 WMR it the mutha. i have bricks stashed for the few guns we sell in that caliber. It will get better, but my crystal ball is in the shop as to when.

Yesterday was at Sportman's Warehouse-
Was amazed to see 22 ammo!
They had 2 - 325 round bulk boxes of Federal 22.
Their store limit is one bulk box.
Paid $21.99 which is 7 cents a round.

In my area they were 10¢ a round a few years ago and the 1000 pack from Winchester is still that high. Other .22 ammo when you can find it is mostly 7¢ a round and very rarely 6¢ a round. I refuse to spend more than 5¢ and I know the days of 2¢ a round will never return.

I picked up a couple of 100 round boxes of minimag HPs yesterday at a CalRanch store. $8.95 a box, plus nine point sum thing percent tax makes them about 10 cents a round.
