Default Federal .22 ammo find...

Down at my place on the coast
hit the local Wallyworld for some fishing tackle.
Found these.

Those are Federal Champions. It is Federal's low ball round, but heads and shoulders above some of the Remington and Winchester. At least Walmart doesn't usually gouge on the prices of some of this entry ammo. Good find. I'll mosey down and see if it made it to the hill country.

I gave up on that variety a while back. It is revolver food for me.

My LGS has Federal automatch for $25/325 bulk box. It's way better than the Champion, it fact one of my favourite .22s. The funny thing is they have lots of it at a good price while not far away the BassPro shop has not a single round of .22 in the store!

If that is just a private gun store, I suppose $25 is a decent price. However, when Bass Pro has it in, they usually sell it for $18.95. Academy (when they have it in) sells it for $19.95, and when you can stumble upon it a Walmart, it is $17 plus.

I agree, it's a pretty good round. It's 1200 fps, and cycles my pistols for steel plate shooting. I like it.

My High Standard Sentinel and my SR22 hates them. Fail to fire in both guns and and fail to cycle in the Ruger. I have been telling my better half I need to buy a better pistol. Larry

Great strategy! I admire your thought process. Turn some lemons into lemonade!

Yup - .22 Rimfire availability has certainly improved in the last 6 months and prices have come way down. Just in time for the NEXT "ammo shortage".

Default Not too long ago

I sent 2000+ Fed auto match back to them, you could just about pull the lead right out of the case. NONE of my 22's would cycle it. Then when the HEAD quality control lady e-mail'd me back that I was using it in a SUBPAR auto, a 22A S&W, not a QUALITY firearm, I informed her that my sr22 and my mkIII would not eat it either, they sent me a full refund. I told her that I would try to purchase some QUALITY weapons as soon as I could afford them. NO MORE FEDERALS FOR ME!!!!
That is ALL FACT no BS

Use the search engine In stock ammo, guns, magazines, and reloading supplies Search for case quantities and watch your shipping cost. I picked up a case of 5000 rds for around 370.00 recently. I think it was like 7.5 cents a round.

Dick's is having a sale for the 325 packs of Federal for $19.99. That's not bad and the Remington Golden Bullets are about $9.00 for the 100 round boxes.
