My usual advise is never buy "reloaded" or "remanufactured" ammo from unknown companies. If someone wants to take their chances and buy such reloads then buy in small quantities first to test it before buying bulk. Many a person has bought bulk reloads only to find that it's out of spec or just plain ****** ammo made from ****** components.

Hope it works out for you.

Default I can't remember the name.....

I can't remember the name but one company has had good comments about their reloads. I would consider buying theirs, but otherwise I've had a bad taste from commercial reloads.

The only company I have ever bought reloads from was " Georgia-Arms " . They have been around for years . Everything I bought from them was fine . This was before I started doing my own reloading . I believe they are still in business .

I looked at them as much as I could and all seemed OK.. I did not handle each one yet.. I will do that when I shoot them.. No dings , crushed sides or anything that would send up a Red Flag..
I THINK shot reloading is more forgiving then metallic...

I bought a few boxes of Ultramax factory reloads years ago and they were fine, but now that I reload my own I would never buy or shoot anybody else's reloads.

My 9MM reloads cost me about 13 cents a round.

i trust their reloads.
please let me know how your reloads work.
their price for 38 spc is attractive.

Not a bad deal. I was hoping they have 10mm but no so I looked at the 40sw. The 165 they have is $93 for 500 and is copper jacketed lead core. That's 18 cents apiece.

995 fps means it's pretty mild.

There were a few commercial reloading Company's that produced fairly descent ammo for a while but they never seem able to keep up quality for long and eventually go out of business. The problem is that if you look around really hard you can find some terrific deals on Factory virgin ammo (popular calibers at least) for not a whole lot more than questionable reloaded ammo. The bonus is you also get once fired factory brass after shooting it if and when you start reloading.

For any serious shooter, you either need to be financially well off or get into reloading at some point. The bonus of reloading is not only being able to produce ammo at will (assuming components are at hand) but you can customize the loads to your personal needs and likings.

Default That's just it.....

I haven't bought reloads in 30 years because I prefer to do my own. Just saying that in the last years there have been a very few reloading outfits that actually put out a quality product.

One time I bought what was called 'factory reloads', which I took to mean that the factory was a guy in his garage with a progressive press after their ammo was SO inconsistent. If I just want to make 'bangs', firecrackers are cheaper.

My personal philosophy is only buy form reputable re-manufacturers. I've never done it, but I would sleep easier buying something from Freedom Munitions, et al, as opposed to bubba at the gun show. Second, if not buying big-name stuff, only shoot what you reload personally or reloads from someone you know and trust.

Example:
When I lived in San Antone, I found some guy in Buda who sold reloads. Long story short, each of the 200 .38s felt like it had a different charge. Some so light, I was checking the barrel for squibs. I've never bought reloads again.

I shot about 100 rounds today... All my fingers still work and my head is not leaking.. lol... So far so good.. BTW, the most frustrating thing is the target swings left to right about 2 inches with the fans ... All and all no unexpected hot rounds or lite ones.. Hopefully I found something good..

I no longer buys reloads either. Just had too many problems. Between my walmart and cabelas I can almost always find factory ammo for about the same price.

If you can find brass cased 9MM for 13 bucks for a hundred rounds, I'd love to see it. Walmart sells Winchester white box .38 for $48 for 100 rounds. I reload 100 rounds for about $13.

I started reloading after Newtown. Only 4 years ago, and ammo was impossible to find. And when I could, it was 16 bucks for 50 rounds.

I reload to save money. But I mostly reload to be free from the next drought. And there will be another drought.

I have shot their 9mm reloads. The quality is acceptable. I have had no issues with them. They are not the "prettiest" catridges I've seen - the plated bullets have a lot of small "dings" in them - but they function fine.

There are other commercial reloads that have functioned well for me . . . and a few that have not. So far Fed Arm is good to go. I'm on my third 1000 round box from them.

I've bought quite a bit of Herters brass cased 9mm at Cabelas on sale for $10-$11 a box of 50.
My reloads are about $7.50 a box or even a little less.

That's 20-22 bucks for 100 rounds. Quite a difference from 13 bucks and .38 special is a real savings. 50 cents a round for store bought vs. 13 cents a round for my reloads.

Primers are about 4 cents each. Bullets about 8 cents. Powder? 2 cents per round. So 14 cents a round vs 22 cents a round. Brass is free, of course.

There's also the cost of dies, press, tumbler etc, to amortize over the number of rounds produced. Plus cost of other consumables--tumbling media (and any amendments, if used), sizing lube if used...electricity for tumbler and lighting during process ; and of course, the dollar-value of time spent in the entire operation (including recovering fired cases).

Wallyworld near me has regularly sold Perfecta brass case/nonmetallic bullet 9mm for just about $10 (with tax) for fifty.

For some calibers, reloading is a no-brainer home run. I'm not sure about 9x19...

There are some very reputable commercial reloader/remanufacturers; Black Hills and BVAC are the two that I have bought the most from.

I reload most of of the ammunition that I shoot but occasionally I do need to buy some already loaded and will buy either new or remanufactured, whichever is available for the best price to suit my need at the time.

I would not hesitate to shoot ammunition reloaded by a real commercial operation. Someone selling reloaded ammo out of his garage or basement is just that, some guy, not a commercial reloader.

I have not.

But I used Black Hills reman as well as Scorpion. Black Hills is top notch. Scorpion is okay, so far they all went bang but I don't expect it.

For duty-, SD- and hunting ammo I use Buffalo Bore.

Regarding the company you might want to browse the internet and see several different sources on feedback.

I'm skeptical of a lot of reloads but I've always had good experiences with Georgia Arms and bulk 9mm from Freedom Minitions. I actively avoid North Georgia reloading as I've had bad experiences with their ammo.

All true. Just a couple of observations:

First I don't pay 8 cents per for bullets. I can get hard cast lead for just over 4 cents each. 8 cents is more like the price for plated bullets when they aren't on sale.

Second, with the exception of the dies, all that other stuff doesn't get amortized on just reloading 9mm. I already reload 5 other calibers, and on all of them the cost savings per round is WAY higher than it is for 9mm. So since I already have the press, tumbler, etc., etc., etc., not reloading 9mm for half the price of buying factory rounds becomes a no-brainer decision.

If 9mm were all I shot then you are probably right. Buying all the equipment to save roughly 10 cents a round reloading 9mm might not make sense. But since I am also saving 30-40 cents per round on 380acp, 38spl, 357mag, 44spl, and 44mag, amortizing the cost of the press, tumbler, etc. also becomes an obvious no-brainer too.

Then there is also the aspect of immunity from shortages and rising prices. I have really stocked up on reloading supplies, mostly purchased at bargain basement prices, over the last few years. I probably already have enough brass, powder, and primers to produce 15,000 rounds - enough to last me for several years - possibly for the rest of my life. I only have about half that many bullets, but they can be cast at home if they get scarce. If the evolving political climate drives another shortage and/or skyrocketing prices, I will be immune from the effects. I'll still be able to make and shoot all the ammo I want, even if factory ammo becomes unobtainium.

Lastly, there is the sheer satisfaction of making my own ammo and the option to tailor it to my guns. Doing so takes a little time, but it is an interesting hobby in and of itself. Not one I have a LOT of time to devote to at this stage of my life, but the potential is there for that day just a few years from now when I retire and have more time than money.

For me, saving a nickle a round buying someone else's reloads, doesn't make much sense when I can save twice that much on 9mm, and up to ten times that much, on other calibers by reloading it myself. But that's just for me and my particular circumstances.

I have bought thousands of rounds of reloads over the years. I got to know the company well and trusted them. But then they went out of business due to poor management.

I would only trust Freedom Munitions due to the feedback provided here. But that doesn't mean that there aren't other reputable companies.

I quite often look for factory ammo that's on sale at gun shops or big box stores. Recently bought 1000 rounds of Sellior & Bellot 9MM for $10 a box.

You are the only person on the planet saving money reloading.

Its funny, I hear people making this kind of joke all the time.
It is true, I probably shoot twice as many rounds per session as I would if I were shooting factory loads.
But when the ammo costs an average of only 1/4 as much, even shooting twice as many rounds I still save around 50%.
At that rate paying off the cost of the equipment only takes a couple of thousand rounds and its all gravy from then on.
Of course I'm not one who keeps putting more and more money into buying the latest reloading gadgets and gizmos. Keeping it simple and economical works for me.
So chalk up a second person who saves money reloading.

Wallyworld near me has regularly sold Perfecta brass case/nonmetallic bullet 9mm for just about $10 (with tax) for fifty.

For some calibers, reloading is a no-brainer home run. I'm not sure about 9x19...
Equipment is paid for after I have loaded 1500 rounds, which I long passed. You pay 20 bucks for 9MM right now, but that will probably go up. I pay less than 14 bucks for 100, and that won't rise at all since I have enough powder to load probably 10,000 rounds right now.

Electricity for tumbler? You're serious? Do you factor the cost of electricity when you watch a DVD over going to the theater?

Time spent? Do you pay yourself to watch TV?

9MM NOW is 10 bucks for 50 rounds. I can still reload 50 rounds for less than 7 bucks. That's a 30% savings. And after Newtown, 50 rounds of 9MM Winchester White Box at Walmart was 16 bucks, IF you could even get it.

Yeah, 9MM doesn't save you AS MUCH to reload. But it saves you 30%. And other calibers like .38, it saves me 75%. As for my time, I batch load. I come back from the range and resize my brass. Takes maybe 10 minutes. When I have enough for a tumbling session, I throw them in there and leave the house for a few hours. I expand those 300 rounds on a Sunday afternoon. Then, I sit in front of the TV and prime them using my hand primer. Won't count that as time spent cause I'm just watching TV. Then I throw those primed rounds into a bin, ready to reload whenever the mood strikes. Today I did 50 rounds of .38 in about 25 minutes on my single stage, weighing every round. So to reload 300 rounds, I spend maybe an hour of my time over the course of like 2 months. I spend more time on this forum than I do reloading. I don't consider it a waste of time.

Bottom line is that reloading saves you money. The dies and press are long paid for and they don't go bad. I will not be a slave to the next panic.

But don't let me convince you. Last week, I was just entering my range as a guy was leaving. He left about 125 pieces of 9MM brass on the ground. I was happy to take it.

I don't really shoot much more since I started reloading. Maybe a bit, but that's all. With what I currently have loaded, I have enough to shoot for at least 2 years.
