Default Two Part Question: Reloads

Tried a search and couldn't locate what I was exactly looking for.

1 - I have to factory stock M&P'S besides the triggers, a full size 9mm and a Shield 9mm. Can I should good quality reloads on my factory barrels? Do I need to upgrade my barrel? Do I need a fully supported barrel?

2 - Anybody use Stand1Armory reloads? Experiences with their ammo?

Thank you for your thoughts, I appreciate it. New to handguns.

Smith & Wesson does not recommend use of reloaded ammunition in any of their firearms. If an ammunition related incident occurs, it will not be covered under warranty.

That said, I use reloads for practice in short-barreled pistols similar to the Shield, which I don't own. I have found that the chambers have a short throat, and are intolerant of ammunition loaded too long.

You must do a "plunk" test with the dismounted barrel. Drop a cartridge into the chamber. The lip of the cartridge should rest solidly on the step in the chamber. If you press firmly on the base of the cartridge with your thumb, it should drop out freely when the barrel is upright. If it sticks, similar loads may misfire and be exceedingly hard to clear (imagine using a hammer rather than your thumb to drive it in place).

If you reload, exercise due diligence, and use the components and powder charge recommended on published loading charts. The correct OAL may vary from the published value, based on the test above. It is usually a maximum value, and the correct load should be approached from below with caution.

Not familiar with the rloadr you mentioned, but factory 9mm ammo is available for around $10/box, if you look. I don't know what these folks are charging for a box, but I'm just generally skeptical of aftermarket reloaders.

The prohibition on reloads does not cover factory ammo made with used components. S&W and others just don't want you using ammo you make yourself. I don't happen to agree and shoot only my handloads but I'm not telling anyone to do the same.

A commercial loader producing ammo with used brass is still a commercial loader with a manufacturers FFL and insurance.

Any SAAMI complain ammo should be able to be safely shot in any handgun in good working order.
