.22 shock(in a happy way)
Went to the closest Wally World with the wife this afternoon, managed a run past the ammo case, and the .22 shelf was full, with extra boxes stashed on the bottom shelf. I saw 5 different brands including my much missed CCI mini mags, in 100 packs for $7.49. Also a CCI product called an AR Tactical pack, 300 rounds of 40 grain copper plated rounds for $19.89, supposedly for use in the various copies of the Black/Assault rifles. Still a limit of 3 boxes/customer but the 300 round box counted as a single box. I was paying that price for mini mags 6 years ago. I'm very pleased. I had not run out but was running lowish on Mini mags.
I hope this is available to all of you also

Yes 22LR is showing up in quantity in various brands at the big sporting goods stores. However, Wally World usually has the best price when they have any in stock. While 22LR is available again the prices are generally relatively high in my opinion. 22WMR is still almost unavailable though where I shop; Fort Worth Cabelas had many, many choices of LR when I was last there but not one round of 22WMR. This week found CCI JHP and FMJ WMR at Wally World for $13.49 a box.

My local WM had several varieties of .22WMR and some .17HMR, but zero .22LR as of yesterday.
They DID, however, have completely full shelves of just about EVERYTHING else....9, .45, .357....I was pleasantly surprised.

Same here in the NW. Walmart had pretty full shelf of most everything except .22 LR. I just can't seem to hit it right on my timing!

And that's the ticket for .22 ammo at Walmart. They say they don't ever know when or what .22 rimfire is coming in, but when it does it evaporates quickly.
My Walmart's goofy policy is also three boxes. But it doesn't matter what the three boxes are. If they get in two or three bricks of something, they break them up and will sell you three 50-round boxes. So, if you are lucky enough to be there when you have it, you can walk out with 150 cartridges. So theoretically, three bricks will serve ten customers buying the max they are allowed. But...
If they get in eight boxes of 525 cartridge bulk packs, they will still let you get three boxes. Thus, the first two customers can walk away with 1575 cartridges. The third customer buys the last two boxes that are available and walks out with 1050 cartridges. And that wipes the store out.
If they limited the bulk boxes to one per customer, you would still have 525 cartridges and eight customers could shoot.
So, one day a customer maxes out at 150 cartridges. The next day a customer maxes out at 1575 cartridges. And Walmart thinks they are rationing the .22 out fairly. Idiots.

One local WM rations based on the package size.
50-100, limit 3
101-400, limit 2
>400, limit 1
I've seen other variations, but they do break up all bricks down to the 50 packs.

Local Academy seems to have a lot of .22 LR on their shelves now, anywhere from 5 cents to ten cents per round, depending on brand and package size. Apparently no purchase limits, at least no signs to that effect are posted. The closest WM to me seldom has any .22 in stock, but no shortage of every other caliber.

The Academy on Bandera Highway always has .22, but they do ration it to 500 rounds per person per day. I have to drive a long way to get there, so I'll usually try and bring along a non-shooter who will purchase their 500 for me. I shoot a lot of .22 getting ready and then competing in our steel plate challenge. We compete with both pistols and rifles.

My local Wal also has most everything except 22LR.
Recently bought Remington 100 rd boxes at a LGS at 10 cents a round.
For some reason lots of folks have regular speed CCI.
Bought some a couple of weeks ago.

The Cabelas up the road an hour from me ALWAYS has
.22 LR. in stock. Its 7-8 cents a round now but you can
buy all you want. They also have some bulk pack ammo
that runs the price per round cheaper.
I went into a Gander Mountain today and they had a full
shelf of the Federal Auto Match ammo at 24.95 per 325
pack. My 10/22 loves that stuff.
Our WallyWorlds around here have had NO .22's for awhile.

My local Wal Mart used to have a store policy that doled out 22 ammo as fairly as they could. I would always get what I could when they had it on the shelves. A couple months back I went in and they had a new corporate policy in place where it was three boxes per customer no matter the size of the box. On that particular day the had a few Mini Mags but two boxes of the Winchester 1000 round stuff. I got the Winchester and left the CCI for the next buyer. The nice lady that works there always tells me if they have any 22 when she sees me because once a week I walk through to look and she knows what I am looking for.

The wally world by me has had absolutely no 22 rf of any brand. Says the trucks do come in but the ammo is usually gone by lunch. Which would sat to me them gremlins are still there at 5 am buying all that they have. Now all you do is drive around for houses setting at crazy angles and that is where all the ammo went. Fra
