I just bought a case of this, and wanted to relay the info to those who might find it useful.

I bought the 124 grain ammo, it's FMJ, new brass, with sealed primers and cases. The case itself is $263 for 1450 rounds, or 29 boxes of 50. Bud's charged me $22 to ship it insured, that came out to be $285, or $9.82 a box all said and done.

I have shot this before, I tried a couple of boxes when it was around 14 bucks a box. It is fairly hot, and I had no issues of any sort with my pistols. No failures, no case issues, nothing.

Of note, while this ammo is marketed from Yavexusa in Florida, every box is labeled "made in Turkey". It's listed as NATO spec, and since Turkey is a NATO country, I tend to believe it's basically new production military ammo that was repackaged to sell on the US market.

The boxes are fairly nicely done, they have a black/gold color scheme that looks a lot like Blazer Brass boxes, but the size is smaller, along the lines of Sellier and Bellot (Czech ammo).

A google search led me to another forum where someone complained that the cases were malforming, but it seemed like that forum's users determined the culprit was an aftermarket barrel that didn't support the case fully.

This stuff, as I said, felt hot, way hotter than Blazer Brass. But so does Sellier & Bellot and Fiocchi, to me at least. I think the imported 9mm from NATO countries are all full-powered rounds, while a lot of the US ammo is downloaded for plinking.

An observation about Bud's, Yavex and shipping: the case of 124 gr (29 boxes) was 22 bucks, and all they did was slap a mailing label onto the big Yavex box (they didn't slip it inside of another, brown box, as I've seen from other sites).
They also have 115 grain ammo, 1500 rounds (30 boxes), for the same cost per round- but that costs $33 to ship for some reason. That brings it up over $10 a box, still ok, but not as good a deal.

I will be in Lexington this weekend and was planning on a stop at Buds.....was it shipped from them or dropped shipped from another whse. ?

Update- I shot some, and it was good to go. No failures of any sort on 100 rds, nice firm recoil (comparable to same spec Sellier & Bellot, more noticeable and more muzzle flash than Blazer Brass).
Seems to be qood quality stuff, especially for the price.

Update #2- the price has dropped to $261, or 2 bucks cheaper. Same s/h. In addition (for me at least), Bud's sent me a $5 off coupon code for the last purchase, which I was able to apply to another case. Brought it down ... 5 bucks more , so my total this time around is $278; or $9.58 a box.

Scooby, I thought of grabbing a case of this but it shows $292.00 for 1450 rds of 124gr...... am I missing something ? The 115gr shows $272 for 1500 rounds....

For me it showed 1450 for $262 and 1500 for $292. One box more

Just a quick comment about the ammo seeming "hot". There is a strong possibility that the European NATO specification ammo is designed for submachine guns. At one time, a lot of 9mm ammo was noted to be for "submachine gun use only", but I have not seen that warning in ages. I could be wrong, but it is just a thought.

Not 100% sure, but I don't think there is any difference between SMG and handgun ammo today. The NATO STANAG also allows 115 grain bullets, and I think some foreign-loaded NATO 9mm ammunition uses those. The US M882 9mm round uses only the 124 grain bullet. Typically the M882 will produce around 1170 ft/sec MV from the M9's 5" barrel. MAP of the M882 is 34,519 psi, but MAP of actual factory loadings will be about 2000 psi lower. Keep in mind that the NATO pressure test method is a little different from SAAMI's and produces different results.

If this is repackaged military ammo, it should have a cross in a circle in the headstamp somewhere. Is it in place? Just curious.

First off- Bud's is now out, so the "deal" part is now irrelevant. I think I found this brand one other place, at around $280 or so before shipping. A decent price, depending on shipping, but nothing you can't beat with a little patience on more well-known ammo.

I did do some digging and found the parent company, Yavascalar AS (Turkey), and they list several different types of 9mm. 115 gr, 124 gr, 123 gr NATO, and 115 gr HP. The actual NATO 123 gr they list is 395 m/s. Either way, this is coming out pretty doggone hot.

In looking through the rest of their catalogs, they seem to make a lot of tear-gas and smoke cannisters, rubber shotgun shells, beanbag projectiles, and other fun stuff like that. They also list components, like primers.
Also some other explosive stuff, I guess for mining?

Google translate has some trouble with Turkish, it seems; but from everything I gather, these guys aren't into making pleasant range-time ammo like Blazer, they seem to have some serious intent. Makes sense, considering what part of the world they are in.

I suppose I should limit the handguns I fire this from, keep it to the CZ 75, Beretta, CZ99, guns like that. Maybe the 915?

Probably not the best thing to sling through some of the older guns like my 39-2 or Star Super B.
