Default Shield ported ammo

Hi all,

I Recently purchased my first hand gun, the M&P Shield Performance Center 9mm. I plan on taking it out to target practice this upcoming weekend, and am wondering what the best practice ammo would be for the price? Also, if you know where I can purchase it, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

I bought 25 rounds of Hornady critical duty flexlock 135 grain to use when I conceal carry, but was quite pricey to use for practice.

Thanks all

Shane

Hi, Shane. Blazer Brass, Fiocchi, Magtech, Geco, Speer. I've used all in my PC Shield. I haven't had a single issue with any of them.

I like to shoot the same weight for target as I carry. But more importantly, even though it's pricey, I like to run at least 100 rounds of the exact carry ammo I plan to use on top of a few hundred target rounds to make sure everything runs smooth.

SGammo.com and freedommunitions.com are both great vendors. Sportsmansguide.com usually has free shipping also

Hi OP, I use the same range ammo in my MP's regardless of model (full size, new PC Shield, etc); that being 115fmj brass. Allows me to keep one ammo type in stock.
Most of what I get/use is either Blazer Brass or Remington UMC, have also used Herter's as well. And between 400+ rounds thru said Shield, and another 2800+ rounds thru the full size and compact, I've had 0 issues with any of that range ammo.

In my PC Shield, I've been also practicing with Critical Defense (also 115) and at distances from 6-10 yds or so it's been consistent for hits/results as with my range ammo.

Enjoy your new PC Shield, I love mine. Just make sure to toss a small rag in your range bag to wipe off the front site after a few mags worth, as she likes to get dirty if you're actually running some rounds thru it lol.
