Question 22 CBs

Anyone know a source that has 22 CBs (short or long) in stock? I've come up dry.

Aw man. If you lived in CT, my Walmart has a BUTT LOAD of those right now!! I don't use them and I'm still waiting for some CCI SV and Mini Mags to come in stock. It would be Christmas morning for you. Sorry and good luck finding them.

Here is a link. Maybe you could get them to sell you a lesser amount than shown?

I see CBs at gun shows, have not seen them at WM, but the last time I was there, they had a lot of CCI SV in .22 Short. I bought a box of Aguila Colibri maybe 10 years ago for sighting in some .22 rifles in the back yard, still have a few rounds. Very little noise, just a little pop.

Lots the last few weeks at my local Wal Marts. Discouraging when I see the CCI boxes from a distance, hoping for mini mags.

I can find them from CCI............

Shorts are easy to find.
The CB Long might be phased out soon, since it is hard to find.
You might try the CCI Quiet 40gr lead RN for low noise.

Good luck.

You may also want to consider cci quiets 710 fps but with the standard 40 grain bullet of an lr as opposed to the 29 gr of the cb's

Have you herd the CB Long is to be dropped? It is the most
useful one. The regular CBs are hard to load in some guns. The
longs will cycle even if it is manually.

Default 22 CB ctges

You might try an old hardware store in a rural area of the state that you live in. You might be surprised and find what you are looking for. When 22 ammo was getting tough to find a few years ago I used to visit my in laws, who lived in a rural area about 90 miles from our house. Their were several hardware stores in their area, that always had some for sale.

Did finally find some Winchester 22 Long CBs in stock:

Winchester Super-X .22 Long CB Match Rimfire Ammo |
Bass Pro Shops: The Best Hunting, Fishing, Camping & Outdoor Gear

Not as cheap as they used to be, but if anyone else is looking they are available.

Use the CCI Quiet ammo. MV is about the same as CB, and the noise level is identical to me. In addition, accuracy is much better. The Remington CBee's are so inaccurate that it makes you think you've forgotten how to shoot a gun. The CCI Quiet round is right on target every time. . .no flyers.

I guess an important question to ask is what are you planning to shoot them in? Depending on the gun, you may not be able to chamber LR rounds. Lots of the non-CCI brands are hotter than BB and CB rounds, so be careful and match the right round with the right revolver.

CCI Quiet22 is in a Long Rifle case, but it has the same muzzle velocity as the CB Shorts and CB Longs. The difference is that it is a 40gr bullet instead of the 29gr CB bullet. Obviously, it takes a bit more powder to push a 40gr bullet, so it will be a bit louder. In my 10/22 it still has a pretty good snap. Not enough to hurt my ears outdoors tho. It also will not cycle the bolt but works okay if you load a mag and cycle it by hand. In a revolver, it is pretty darn loud.

CCI still makes 'em and are usually found only in a well stocked local gun shop. They are NOT usually stocked in the big box stores so I'd not even bother to look there. If your LGS's are out of stock you could request that they get you some in their next ammo order. I have found that the CB's are actually easier to get than the standard .22 Shorts are.
