TulAmmo....38 Special....
Just ordered 500 rounds of this stuff (130 Grain, Full Metal Jacket Flat Nose (FMJFN), with a steel case before the election here in CooCooFornia, concerned that some out of state dealers will get spooked and stop sending orders here. Just for practice at the range, and it was 50% the cost of what I would have paid locally for UMC .38 lead nose brass case ammo. Since I don't reload, I figure the stuff is good enough for one bang per case. Opinions? Thanks.

It will be dirty and extract harder than brass case but will work just fine otherwise

Thanks for the input...I always give my toys a thorough cleaning after a day at the range. I love the smell of Hoppe's #9...it smells like...Hoppe's #9.

Keep your eye out for Herter's Aluminum cases also.......
A little easier on the parts.

It will probably shoot. If I lived in California, I would buy anything I could get my hands on.

I have a feeling that if you make ammo for the Tula factory that does not shoot, you won't be making ammo much longer.

Have shot a ton of Tula ammo in 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. Have shot a lot of 130 gr. FMJ's by various manufacturers both domestic and foreign. Seldom gives precision target results but very useful for practice, etc. Have shot some in matches... any hits outside the 10 ring of a B-27 were my fault. Expect you will get similar results as obtained with other 130 gr. FMJ loads. If you notice any stiff extraction during a range session, simply take a phosphor-bronze bore brush of an appropriate size and use it to brush the cylinder charging holes clean. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

I'm sure plenty of people will tell you they've had no problems with TulAmmo.
I have. I was in another state and forgot to take my own ammo, and TulAmmo 357 Mag was the only brand readily available for my 386NG.
First round sounded and felt normal. But then the cylinder would not turn. Neither could it be swung out of the frame. It was jammed tight.
Longer story short I sent it to S&W (after VERY forcefully opening the cylinder to remove the rounds). I was concerned we might have damaged it when we forced it open. Happily, they said there was no damage, but replaced the hand anyway, no charge. Since I had admitted to them what I did, I think that was superior service.
They also - politely - said steel-case ammo is "not recommended" in their guns.
It's on my Prohibited List.

Common misconception. Tests have been done....you can look them up....it's almost as soft as brass, and depending on the brass manufacturer sometimes it's softer

Don't use it in a pistol but when my sons bought me an AR I bought 500. I didn't reload for 223 at the time. At the range last week my reloads kept in a 3" circle at 100 yds. ( gun could do better just not me). Used up some of the Tulammo. At 100 yds the best I could do was just over 9". Several times.
