Ammo Price Descrepancy
I think this to be apples to apples, so to speak. Looking at some .454 Casull ammo. Two brands in question, Double Tap and Buffalo Bore, both 20 round boxes. BB is 325 gr. hard cast at $49.11 per box, Double Tap is 335 gr. hard cast at $34.95 per box. Ok, only difference I see is 10 gr in bullet weight, velocities and energy seem to be similar. The Buffalo Bore is almost 1/2 again the price of Double Tap. Both loads will do what I intend them to do, what is the difference and what would justify BB over DT?

Either you're paying for the name on the box or production costs for one company is more than the other or the packaging may cost more or...
Well, who really knows?

You could be paying for the name but...........
just remember that the stores selling the ammo have to make a profit.
When the ammo sits on the shelf long enough, the store will put it on sale, to move it.
Just a numbers game.

Marketing. Some people will buy the more expensive stuff because it cost more so it must be better.

Gee, if I had thought of the bigger boat being the reason for the price difference I could have saved everyone a lot of trouble.
Next time I see a higher price on one of two items, both being essentially the same, I'll remember that the owner must have just bought a bigger boat.
