Default 10 Gauge Shotshell for flair gun??

Just picked up a Navy WWII flare gun. Really tight and in good shape. Was designed to shoot 10 gauge flares. Online I've found 10 gauge black powder shells, without any shot, made for the small 10 gauge cannons. Will these work for my flare gun? Not interested in not having flares, just want something to go "bank" every now and then.
Thanks
David

IIRC, the small signal guns are built much heavier than a flare gun. I wouldn't want to fire the signal cartridges out of a flare gun.

You might want to check with some yachting supply places about proper ammo. There's a place called Defender up in New England. Or, maybe the local VFW or recruiters.

Or, if you're an NRA member, you're entitled to one technical question per year. Check the AR for details on how to present the question and get an answer. If you're not a member, shame on you!
