Fiocchi 9mm 115 gr. FMJ expansion
Photos show expansion. From a 4" barrel semi-auto, fired 10 yards away, into a mound of tightly packed soil. Not bad I'd say.

Should be a good load to use against Dirt People and CHUD's.

Understood. Should expand nicely on a skull shot though.

I use a lot of Fiocchi 115gr for practice. Wouldn't use it in my EDC. I prefer something that expands more like the Federal 124 gr HST or Speer Gold Dot.

True, but if all you have is range ammo it will have to suffice, and a well placed shot with it will neutralize an assailant at close range...especially if it's a head shot.

But are you going to carry this load with intentions of aiming for the head?

That's not expansion, it's mutilation. Not a great test for efficacy.

Great picture of the base of the bullet to show how the lead
broke free and traveled up the copper coating.
Now you can see why they also make "Bonded" style bullets
for SD times, where the lead is locked in, to prevent separation.
Thanks for an interesting post.

lol. only if the revolver is nearest to the head I will.... otherwise a torso shot at close range will have to do.
