PARTING SHOT
Heads Up! Seems the parting shot of the out going was to ban lead ammo from federal land. FYI. Don't think this will hold up, but it is there for now. Could have far reaching implications, as in what you can carry, much less use. Just BEWARE--

How about a link to a source so we know we're not chasing our tails here?

I told my friend he wasn't done. That he would do as much as he could until the last second to destroy our country, and guns. Seems I was right.

I read the directive referenced in the link. It does not apply to ALL Federal Land, i.e. National Forests. It does apply to National Parks, tribal lands, and National Wildlife Preserves under the authority of the Dept. of Interior. Mangers are required to investigate how to implement over next 2 months and full implementation by 2022. This would seem to affect waterfowl hunting most directly as well as other small game. Some states already require non-lead shot.

Can somebody tell me what service lands are?
"Require the use of nontoxic ammunition and fishing tackle to the fullest extent practicable for all activities on Service lands, waters, and facilities by January 2022, except as needed for law enforcement or health and safety uses, as provided for in policy."
Federal bans on waterfowl hunting using lead is nationwide and it has been law to use only non-toxic shot for the last 30 years. No lead for sinkers for fishermen as well as ammo ban, but I do not know the extent of land falling under this Executive Order??

"Some states already require non-lead shot. " per post #5
As far as I know, the use of Steel shot for the use of taking water fowl
started in the southern United States in the late 80's and was
mandatory by 1990 for all states.
Some states passed a law for steel pellets on all "Migratory Birds" in their state.
Certain areas in Nevada call for steel shot, if hunting Dove, in many areas.
