Default Hotshot .45 acp (steel cased)?

Yeah, I know the name itself is a bad sign, I believe Hotshot put a lot of junk out in surplus rifle calibers.
I haven't shot steel cased in my .45 or 9x19 pistols, just the guns native to that type of casing; my 9x18 and my SKS.

But jeez, J&G has 500 rds for $99 + s/h. Even with their high shipping costs, that's still coming out to $128, which is way undercutting the market.

Any input on this, for range ammo- my range doesn't care what ammo I use. Does steel hurt the gun (I've got a lower end 1911)? And I guess, more importantly, has anybody shot this particular batch of ammo yet... I don't want to be the guinea pig, I'd like a couple of reviews before I would buy it.
Thanks

Have not shot HOTSHOT ammo but I shoot tons of steel in everything I own. I own and shoot both types and I probably own more brass ammo if you don't count surplus but I shoot more steel. Been shooting it since 1998 and have had all of 3 issues, two of which had to do with primer strikes. I've shot it in every handgun and rifle I own that has steel case ammo made for it. From AKs to ARs. 1911s, HiPowers, Luger, Glocks, Sigs, HKs.... etc.

As you can see I don't have a problem with it. Try it. Buy a box or two. If it works great, if not then don't buy it again.

Looking at the box it seems to be just reboxed Wolf ammo. If I'm not mistaken Hotshot is just a name Century Arms uses to import other ammo. Today they may have a contract with Tula, tomorrow it might be Fiocchi

Academy had WWB brass cased 45 for $0.23 a round so I wouldn't consider that price under cutting the market especially for steel case.

But steel case is still good to go. If it doesn't work in your gun you need a different gun not different ammo
