Nickel cased .44 mag ammo
Would anyone here know where I might be able to buy a box or two of new .44 mag cartridges having nickle plated cases...I'm not having much luck?
'preciate it...

I don't believe that any of the current mass producers offer a nickel plate offering.
I have some Norma from about 40 yrs ago that's plated.
You might check the boutique places like Double Tap, Buffalo Bore etc.
I stand very much corrected!
After seeing the post below am very surprised how much is now offered with the plated case - go figure.

Not factory ammo, but my younger brother bought 1000 cases of nickel Starline brass about 6 months ago. If you have to have nickel cases and have a friend who reloads 44 Mag, that is an option.
For a factory loaded option, I read over at Midway that Underwood uses nickel Starline brass for their ammo, so you might check there.

Try Federal's Vital-Shok, Premium Swift A-Frame, Winchester's Platinum Tip or Dual Bonded.

Why does plating matter on factory ammo?

Because he wants some! Remember the operative word in this hobby is always "want", not "need", even though both are four-letter words.

And if you keep some ammo in loops on a leather belt they don't get the verdigre (green gunk) that you get with brass.

Very true dat!. Plus if you reload, using nickeled cases is a great way to separate your light, range loads from your "serious business" stuff.

Thought I'd post a pic of the use I put the Platinum Tips to...no more concern over developing that nasty verdigris.
