I went to the range this morning to shoot my converted 28-2 (it's in the '61-'80 section). After shooting some Speer Gold Dots I opened a new box of Winchester .44spl cowboy loads. 6 rounds, everything good. Second six-I fired 3 when it bound up. Opened the cylinder and a bullet dropped free!! Looked at the case and it didn't appear there was any powder in it.

**Correction-the round in question never rotated into position under the firing pin. I'm guessing recoil caused the bullet to come loose, the primer wasn't struck and is intact.**

Made in where??????

It's a good thing the bullet didn't get stuck part way in the cylinder and part way into the barrel. That would have been a real pain to get out.

Check the rest carefully then contact Winchester. They owe you at least a box.

If you have a powder scale weigh each round in the box and separate ones that are at least 6 grains different from the majority.

Then pull the bullet of one and see if there's powder and how much if any.

If there's the difference in weights don't shoot any out of that box.

They may need to be sent to Winchester.

I just sent the pic in an email to Winchester. I fired 13 more rounds without issue but stopped. I'll report back when/if I hear anything. No scale to check the weight on so I'm just putting the box away.

Update ** Received a few emails from Winchester, the last one on Tuesday including prepaid shipping and "ORD" labels. Arranged this morning for UPS to pick it up. That's what I call customer service.

Update with resolution. I'm very satisfied.
