Sig Sauer Ammo Problems?
Has anybody else had an issue with Sig Sauer Elite Performance ammo? I bought a 50 round box of 125gr FMJ in 38 Special and I had an issue with THREE rounds. The rounds failed to fire which is probably due to bad primers but three out of 50 seems a bit excessive. I was using a 638-3 (my carry gun) and it is 100% factory. I have close to 1000 rounds through this gun with no FTF before this and I successfully fired 50 rounds of Remington 130gr FMJ immediately after the Sig Sauer. This was my first box and I am not exactly impressed, I don't think I will buy another box unless it is my only option.

I heard of other problems with their ammo
But can't recollect what it was.
Shouldn't have to hit it with a hammer and chisel to make it go bang
Take it back
Lesson maybe learned

I have gone through several thousand rounds of the SIG ammunition.
None of it was in 38 Special, all I had was the 357SIG, 10MM Auto and 45 ACP
I have had no issues with it in a dozen or so different firearms.

Never bought their ammo but 3 out of 50 isn't bad. I know it sounds bad but by lots it's not, which is how they're made. It may actually be 3 out of a 1000 or more, they just happened to go into the same box. Probably got loaded one after the other

Ran a 50rd box of their .380 through my P238, and it was fine.

After trying a bunch of other rounds, I've settled on SIG .380 FMJ for target practice with Mrs. swsig's SIG P250. I've never had one misfire with it, and it is by far the most accurate ammo I've shot from the P250.
I wouldn't give up on it as yet. Contact SIG, and let them know. If you still have the box, give them the batch number. They'll probably send you a free box for your troubles.
Let us know how things work out.

Keep the box and remaining rounds. Call them (email only if you can not find a contact phone). They will likely want them back for review. All the major ammo companies I have called have sent labels to return the ammo, and either replaced it or sent a check to cover the cost.

Sig Ammo
I have shot literally thousands of rounds of their 9mm, .380 and 10mms and never an issue. In fact, it's some of the most accurate practice ammo I have ever used. The 115 full metal jacket ammo is pretty much what I use in my Glocks because it's so hot the ejection is really consistent and flawless. The 10mm practice and target ammo is great , hot 10mm.
In short I was skeptical at first but our local Cabels has good deals on their ammo and I have become a huge fan

sig ammo
Hi all
Won't run in my LCP 11
Fails to extract. Tried three other brands of ammo that work fine.
Not as much for the extractor to grip onto.
Works fine in my 1st gen LCP so I guess it's gun related.
And so it goes
Regards
Mike

Tried the 9mm in all 3 weights and had more rtf,s (feed) than I could count. Same day, same 2 guns, fired lots of Gold dots, Goden Sabers, and Hornady with zero problems.

Thanks for the input, I was just curious as this was my first (and probably only) box of Sig Sauer ammo. I think I will stick with the stuff that has been 100% (for me) reliable-Federal, Winchester, Remington or Blazer. Thanks again.
