I got a small quantity of them and tried them for awhile but found that I prefer using the full moon clips and regular 45acp cases.

The 625 has the clearance for the thick rim on the 45 auto rim? I don't have any but the rim looks like it thicker then most rim cases.

Used them for years. No problems with removal of 45 ACP from moon clips as a result. Dave_n

Every N-frame .45 ACP I've ever shot likes .45 AR just fine.

.45 AR was made specifically for the purpose of being able to fire in any .45ACP revolver that uses moon clips to hold the cartridges in place. The rim on the .45 AR exactly matches the thickness of the .45ACP cartridge case rim plus the thickness of the moon clip. The AR cartridge will work in any such .45 ACP revolver and extract in the conventional way.

Yep, they work fine, 625 or 325, or whatever revolver shoots 45ACP. They're mainly all I use.

I load Starline and R-P 45AR cases with 200gr LSWC and 200gr plated SWC,230gr LRN and Speer 250gr LSWC for a 625-2

I don't use my 625-2 for home defense,EDC or competition. It's a fun to shoot range gun that's extremely accurate.

I drilled and tapped it to use a Burris FF3 red dot on a Raptor Engineering mount sold in the classified section by forum member revolver_ph

FS: Reflex Sight Mounts for Smith & Wesson Revolvers

I use the red dot to test my reloads.

I'm pretty sure you can find strips for the .45 AR at Tuff Products.

Like many others, I've used .45AR in 4 different 1917s, a 1950 Target and my current M22-4. They are my preference, though I also fired hundreds of ACPs from those guns as well, w/ and w/o clips.
They'll work fine in your 625.
BTW, there are speed loaders made for the AR.

Larry
